I rather think Ethan would be more like the cherry on top of human genocide – you get to keep killing him over and over. Sortof like a trophy of your conquest.

He’s like that radiant quest that keeps popping up after you finish the game so you always have something to do.
In Fallout 4 terms, he’d be a settlement in need of your help.
Or is he the endless respawning grind that doesn’t feel like it gets you anywhere so you finally just turn the game off and don’t play anymore in despair and dejection?
Z.K., If you really wanted to have something to be afraid of is the curse of living forever, and having to live with the fact that everyone you’d potentially ever killed keeps reappearing in your mind just like Ethan respawns for all eternity does but in real life

Ya know… as someone whose initials are “Z.K.” and has worked retail for over a decade (and thus thought MANY times about making humanity extinct) this comment hits a bit harder than it should…

Probably she still “breathes”, somekind of molecular capture of atmospheric oxigen…like an osmosis
It *really* depends, Iceman doesn’t need to breath while in ice form for example.
I doubt it. Smoke doesn’t have anything to use the oxygen for, other than maybe burn some more.
Now that’s an interesting supers concept: A fire projector that can amplify by pulling in and concentrating nearby oxygen (and he either doesn’t breathe or he can hold his breathe for a long period). Like putting oxygen in to enhance a fire. I suspect I’d have to name the character ‘blowtorch’….
If she can turn into smoke, not needing air isnt so unbelievable.
Or just deny them water for long enough.

There are commercial plants that have fancy scrubbers to selectively limit toxic emission and/or smoke. Run her up one of those chimneys and she might also come to a grisly end.
The diamond body might have another problem: Get him stuck in a trap that normally a human could flex and wiggle out of but his hard form precludes that. So he just slowly starves/dies of thirst.
There’s always a way to get the job done.

Considering that Zeke’s primary motivation from creation was fear of death, which drove him to obey without flaw a being he despised and who basically sold him on the idea of “kill all humans,” I wonder if there’s a part of him that is listening to this and thinking that the scary part is death, and not trapped in eternal involuntary resurrection.
And wondering how he can replicate it.

Watching Zeke clearly pivot to using his “kill all humans” as a way to put the conversation back on more familiar, less existentially terrifying, ground as a way to comfort a spiraling Ethan? Cool. Seeing two characters bond over their shared insane existence? Awesome.
