you fools, you must keep him at exactly zero votes. the man thrives off attention

And all of us painstakingly working to keep the score at exactly zero, and then commenting on it, is far MORE attention than if everyone just downvoted and ignored.

Seriously. He regularly spends time pressing F5 at midnight to try and get “first.” That’s sad enough, just let him have it.

Actually, the comic comes up in the morning here, so i suspect pretty much all of the early comments are Europeans…

Well since everyone else will probably give you a downvote. I gave you an upvote. 🙂

soooooo we could use your comment to track who gave an upvote to the original one, and the one above you to track the downvotes. So we know that like a balance of “-2” actually is “+20, -22″…

Please people, let’s make it extra special. Up to 69, then stop.

It’s an imaginary number that does nothing more than make you feel happy or sad. Glad to make you feel happy.

This makes me wonder what’s on Scott’s shirt there… Is that a Berserk reference? With maybe a hint of Dall-E inspiration

Makes me think of Sailor Moon holding Guts’s sword in the same pose as Guts/Artorias.

That is indeed a Berserk image, or more specific, Guts in his berserker armor

We are all a bit crazy, or at least some say that.

Must say is need to mention that Lucas and Ethan still keep doing their superheroes thing after we can seen what kind of things some heroes deal daily. Even when Is also true they keep a low profile, and don’t go for the top league villains.

Tim, I f-ing LOVE your writing nowadays! ♥ So involving, relatable, enticing. Down to earth characters.
Thank you for sharing your stories with the world. 🙂

It’s so sad, seeing Scott in this situation, when we see the picture (and how happy he and Carlie looked).

What happened to Scott is nearly the worst thing that could happen to someone.

Losing the love of your life forever + losing the ability to walk (or at least making it so painful that using a wheelchair is the better option).

At least helping Ethan and Lucas gave him a new fokus.

Wouldn’t be surprised if the penguin shirt is the only visual reference that we ever get.

Also wouldn’t be surprised if the person who shot Carlie’s name was Ted.

Calling it right now. Scott’s experience with AI leads to him recreating Carly’s personality synthetically, with the intention of bringing her back to life. Then an emergency forces him to dump that personality into the penguin animatronic he was building to give her as a gift.

This is one of the most interesting dilemmas in the whole “super-powers” genre. The inherent extra risk and chaos they bring to the world, regardless of how much you try to shift the balance in favor of “truth, justice and the American way.” On one hand, The principle of escalation is inescapable. The loop that is the arms race. And the ones financing and running that race are usually the worst people possible for the job. With destructive levels of greed, and a sociopathic addiction to power. No one can have a monopoly on the biggest guns for long. And… Read more »

So his beard length is directly proportional with the amount of sad Scott feels

Yeah. A large beard is a classic way to show someone’s “let themselves go” in one way or another, in fictional stories. PTSD and depression surely qualify.

Am I the only one who could see Tim’s reflection on the fourth wall in Panel 3?

Quite the sense of humor, indeed.

I wonder if the author is going to use another stereotypical prot device and make her return as some super villain too.

This is a rather insightful look at Scott as we never got to know him all that well in the previous CAD universe incarnation.

Not going to lie: I really want to know who attacked Scott and Carlie, along with wanting to know if the murderer was brought to justice or not. I hope to see more.
