‘Twas a different time. In ages long past, Sony wasn’t the dominant console of that generation. Hard to imagine, but true. I imagine the Microsoft empire was the dominant force of that time. That and the mighty PC!
In 2004, which is when this comic came out, the ps2 was the dominant platform by such a longshot it still hasn’t been surpassed. So definitely not this.
I i reach into my memory, the consoles in 2004 were: the kid’s console (gamecube), the trendy console even non-gamers liked (ps2), and the hardcore gamer console (xbox), with of course PC out there too. I think he hated the ps2 cuz it was the one with the most mainstream rep and thus most shovelware.
