Shooters aren’t really my thing and I’m not following the trends etc.
Are extraction shooters becoming less popular, or is the market saturated, etc.?
(Or did Disney really release or announce a shooter with their cartoon characters?)
They were honestly always fairly niche. When they became popular, they did what the BR genre did and started swinging pretty hard toward action gameplay, rather than the slow methodical butt clenching experience that made extraction shooters appeal to the first adopters of the genre. It resulted in a bunch of games designed not for the OG fans, but for the people that got bored fairly quick when they realised the PvP was still worse than just your average PvP shooter. It’s kinda like the ARMA games. If you had someone try to turn the ARMA games into a trendy… Read more »

At this point I have seen Mickey portrayed as the evil mastermind of corporate greed Disney SO often that this comic gave me whiplash for using him differently.
According to that one picture I’ve seen, Donald the Duck IS the pedo.

Usually I can appreciate clashing tones. Like a song that sounds like a sweet lullaby until you listen to the lyrics and it’s about mass murder.
Or taking Doom but turning the weapons into squirt guns and enemies into dirty butterflies that need to be washed.
And despite that, I still can’t figure out an angle that this concept could work!
Even if you make it fully kid-friendly with paintball or something, it would still be a bizarre combination.
Colorful goofy squirt guns with cheerful music hiding a vicious culture that essentially wants to kill all other sentient life forms (and kidnapping their children to power mechanical abominations), while repeatedly glorifying ritualistic battle and slaughter… yup, that’s Splatoon.
The information comes from internal sources, but the game is slated to be released nov this year. Apparently there are 3 games in total in the works that Epic makes with Disney.
Fun fact from someone that loved Tarkov and hated the PVP: there’s an official PVE mode now! (and before that, there was an offline fan-made PVE mode with modding capability called SPT-AKI)

The fact that The Mouse would be anyone’s B!tch is unrealistic.
well, it works for fortnite. especially the current battle royale season which includes extracting sprites to unlock them (you lose them if you get blasted but if you unlock one you always can get it back in the lobby using sprite dust. they are extracted for bonuses, and to improve the sprite guardian skin) the extraction points are obvious, sends up a beacon with alarms when activated so anyonee nearby knows when one goes off and it takes a minute for the crate to arrive and you got to be quick to get the sprites you collected in before it… Read more »

If they were that hard up for money, they could turn Disney Mirrorverse or Twisted Wonderland into proper video games. The art in Mirrorverse was pretty good, like FF-style.

I have no idea what this is referencing, but seeing Mickey as submissive instead of the evil overlord of Disney is weird.

even AI would be able to read the trends better than that lol (or they trained it poorly)

What a time to be alive.
Like in South Park? 😀
This sounds like Donald (the duck not the pedo) was left in charge of PR and given god mode to do whatever he liked.
Who’s Donald the Pedo?

Yeah, but at least that has completely different characters/lore/universe.
Is there actually a Disney extraction shooter in development?

Well except for Ron DeSantis’s. 😉
Additionally, The Mouse being concerned about what, “doesn’t feel right” is . . .
Ha, Ha, Ha. Yeah, right.
