Ah soft friendly fire. I haven’t had a dual blades disaster like this one, but I’ve been the one who ruined someone else’s combo before with my long sword, and I wasn’t proud of that. On the other hand, I did start sharpening my weapon once thinking I was safe enough to do it, and then the lancer who was charging behind drove his lance up my butt and sent me flying into the Legiana. Boy that was something else.

Thought for a second it was a matter of you getting multiple appendages that the monster seems to only have one of, when gutting it.

Oof. I feel this so much, and I play Gun Lance, not even Great Sword or Charge Blade…

It is usually longsword hunters who mess up my combos. When I use a bow, I had to learn to stop firing rock bombardments while insect glaive hunters are on my team.

I saw the previous comic and dug up my old MH3 Ultimate and started a new file. I kind of don’t remember anything about the game except for that I like Longsword (haven’t played it since like a year after it came out, its been a bit under half a decade-ish). I found it amazing how by moving slightly to the left or right I could carve with ease, which is more because some of the monster patterns are predictable (most early game at any rate). However, I don’t remember how I’m supposed to get the best weapon. I’m familiar… Read more »

It’s normally people preventing me dodge attacks rather than this, haven’t encountered as many dual sword users as I thought I would

Hey! I use Dool Blades, I’ve got just under 100 hours logged, and I’ve never once hit another player!
Of course, I’ve also only ever played solo missions >.>
Honestly, I picked DB because I didn’t think it would carry interrupts, didn’t know that it did so good to know!

I used to use dual blades, but I always played with long sword users, so if I didn’t just combo-flail I would get tripped by them swinging wildly. Now I use hammers, since most flailing weapons avoid the tough areas like the head that hammers excel at hitting

Serious question: best noob weapon? Always wanted to try this series but never have
There’s no real “noob” weapon… they all have a depth of strategy and learning curve. That said, some are definitely harder than others. I’d avoid long sword at the beginning; stick with a weapon that can guard.

This is why I try to be on the other end of the monster from my hunting buddy. This why I don’t fudge up his Great Sword Charged True Strike thing by sticking him with my longsword or twirl my Glaive into his head.

You forgot the flurry of 2-5 damage ticks per woosh.
My favorite is when they rush a sleeping monster when a GS is next to them building up true charge. I’m definitely not passive aggressive enough to plant a slicing shot right next to them so they get stun locked mid-combo. Who would do that? 😉

I haven’t had issues with dual blades, but I’ve been sent flying several times by hammer users. One guy sent me flying so high, I thought my character was going to turn into one of those shooting star memes.

tbf, she’s using a sword and shield, which is worse on both counts covered in this comic.
It does small damage, so the 2x boost for wakeup isn’t useful.
The shield bash can actually send teammates flying, while the most DB ever does is trip.
Just as Great as the dual Wield Blade Masters Back in Dark Age of Camelot time 😉
Shadowblades say hey man…that hurts.
