For those of you born “after” broadband, this was a monumentus thing – Dialup sucked, it was almost an insult after BB “I Hope you use dial up” was the equivalent of “fuck you and you moma”
I remember loosing a highlevel “Hardcore” Diablo2 char because of dial up… straightup ragequit the game forever because of the “night which shall not be spoken off”

This was auditory torture. The sounds my computer made logging into AOL were enough to wake the dead and ruin the slumber of nearby people.
Most people don’t even know that AOL used to be an Internet Service Provider and not just an e-mail platform!

I remember dial-up. Until recently, I was a slave to its evil. Around 2010 or so I finally upgraded. It was evil. EVIL, I say!
I once took the better part of a fortnight trying to download a 3 cd linux distro called Mandrake Linux, back in the day. How times have changed!

I’m the only one who misses dial-up, but for me it’s just nostalgic. I use the sound as an alarm on my phone to wake me up in the mornings.

Ohhh damnnn, this was my face when we finally got broadband. Dial-up was TORTURE! Which is why we only got internet once BB became available.
