Every time I see some ancient the “Star Wars Prequels sucked” meme or comment, I keep thinking …
Would they still have sucked if George Lucas hadn’t chickened out on the Darth Jar Jar reveal? What a mind-screw twist that would’ve been! Both the characters in-universe AND the audience fooled… re-contextualizing every earlier scene with Jar Jar Binks on a re-watch of Episode 1, changing it in hindsight.

Compared to what Disney’s been doing to it, the prequels are masterpieces. At least George Lucas respects his fans.
