I…am quite disturbed by the image of two grown-up men sitting side-by-side on the couch pissing themselves just so they don’t have to get up and take a leak like reasonable adults.
Watch the movie “Flushed Away”, then you might have an idea. It is a real problem, at least for anyone that gets into sports or video games! I lost track of how many times I’ve been squirming on the couch, hoping to find a safe place in a game to go AFK without someone getting a kill on me.
Well I have one friend in Canada and one in Florida I’ll be playing with, and I don’t think they make a couch big enough for local multiplayer to “always” be better, but you do you.
And since D4 is cross platform and cross play, it’s not like you have to make a permanent decision about where to play. Play on PC, then fire up your account on a console for couch coop there, and then go back to PC, it doesn’t matter.
Okay, I love playing locally with friends. But I also like having my own screen when we play together, not being tethered, or splitting a screen while they’re in a menu, etc. So even geographic hurdles aside, I’m still not going to agree that playing locally is “always” better. PC not having local co-op is a complete non-issue for people that wouldn’t use or don’t enjoy local co-op, so declaring that console is “always” the better way to play seems silly to me. There are so many subjective preference variables.
I’m not sure it gets much sadder than so clearly needing to feel “superior” over fellow gamers based on a platform/playstyle choice, or trying to paint people with different preferences as “deprived” “inferior” or “scared” in order to inflate the validity/value of your own preferences.

I have to work that night. Boss knows I am a Diablo player and I need the money for rent this month so I have to wait until 2am until I can log on. If my greedy landlord hadn’t upped my rent 50% in the last few years, maybe I could have taken the night off. Sad thing is 50% is on the low end in these parts lately.
Maybe consider for a sec that with inflation going nuts your landlord doesnt really want to subsidize you living there so when their costs go up so do yours especially if you dont pay your own utilities. Im a home owner and I know my insurance the rate of the last mortgage renewal municipal taxes and especially gas and electric have gone way up the last few years. And if you were under priced going into the last few years that increase could not be gouging you at all.
I’ve been living in this house for 16 years. I’ve paid this landlord over $200k in rent. I’ve been waiting for over 10 years for him to replace the front door after a thief kicked it in. He just hobbled it back together and forgot about it. In that 16 years he has finally replaced the AC after it failed every summer for 5 years. I am still waiting for him to take care of the insulation as even the new AC has a problem keeping the temp below 84 during the day. I spend $300 a month on Electric.… Read more »

I’ve had someone tell me D4 won’t have the D3 launch issues because they had a beta so they would ‘be prepared’.
I’m still amazed people don’t understand blizz doesn’t set up extra servers for any launch ever, so you will ALWAYS deal with launch issues when there isn’t enough servers to deal with the influx with players.
Yeah, that person sounds like an idiot. Any game Blizzard has released with a beta has never actually been prepared for launch day.

Nope, always online, even on console, even when playing couch coop.
We arent all kids anymore though. Local couch co-op doesnt work for the vast majority of people as a lot of our gaming friends are not local.
Note: Diablo 4 is NOT local, even on consoles. It is always online. Consoles just have couch coop.
