Yeah, it’s bad alright…The suffering can extend for years or even decades. If they had been shot by an arrow to the brain or heart, at least their families could have collected on the life insurance.

The arrow to the knee thing was a reference to the book The Name of the Wind where the main character says:
”Took an arrow in the knee on my way through the Eld three summers ago, it gives out every now and then.’ He grimaced and said wisfully, ‘It’s what made me give up the good life on the road.”
Well after I posted my last message I decided to check my sources. I will admit I was wrong but this is interesting.
