Ummm, yeah…Pain killers have their limits unless they’re enough to knock you out, as in fully unconscious. I’ve even heard of the kind of pain that’s so intense that it forces someone awake because it’s the kind of pain that *will not be denied.*

I have literally been woken up by pain and been unable to go back to sleep. Kidney stones are a bitch
Similar experience for me, but instead of kidney stones, it was pulmonary embolisms for me. Not very fun.
That kind of pain will override every sense.
I’ve been woken up by toothache before (turned out my wisdom teeth were literally crushing my other teeth)
