Oh sure, Blizzard. It starts innocently enough. You let him into one game, what’s the harm? Two games, eh, it’s a novelty. But then it gets out of hand. Before long…
You cannot escape…
The Hanzo’ing.
(PS: His HotS kit didn’t really wow me, but I haven’t played in 4-5 months so I’m not familiar with the current meta. His trait sounds neat, though.)
By the way, I’d planned to have pre-orders open until Tues/Wednesday for this poster, but we’re fast approaching the ceiling for how many I wanted to print/ship. So I may close orders early.
Update: All gone!
Hanzo is in Heroes of the Storm? WHAT? I don’t play, so I wouldn’t know, but that is just… wow.
Honestly he seems really really under powered and I can’t believe they’re adding one of the most basic characters from Overwatch to HotS when there are so many great heroes in Overwatch (and more from Stracraft and Diablo) but that’s just my opinion I’m a super casual.
That was my thought as well. He’s just so… basic.
*slow claps comic*
When I read “StarCraft 2 free to play”, I thought you were joking. Now I’m joyful.
(I didn’t read the details yet, thought… I’m afraid my joy would turn into ashes)
It’s a stunt for selling the new HD version. The “classic” starcraft stuff is free.
You’re thinking of Starcraft Remastered. Tim’s referencing the fact that they just announced that Starcraft 2 is going Free to Play.
What’s actually free: WoL campaign, Co-op up to lvl 5 with limited commanders, and all of the multiplayer experience (arcade too, though that’s already been free). To curb back on smurf accounts, you have to win a game at least once a day for 10 days (not consecutive) to be able to play on the ranked ladder.
I hate to kinda buzz kill here but… There’s lots of other Overwatch characters in Heroes of the Storm already, so I don’t quite get the comic singling Hanzo out here haha.
I haven’t played either Overwatch or HotS in over a year, so I don’t really care either way lol. Just curious.
The thing is that Hanzo is just such a plain character when compared to others. That combined with being . . . well, not very exciting, is what made it so notable that Hanzo is the next new Heroes of the Storm character.
Hanzo just gets a lot of hate and has become a bit of a running joke over the past year. Google “Hanzo Main” and you’ll see what I mean.
Even the TV show Adam Ruins Everything has a reference to this joke.
Thanks for the clarification. I apparently live under a rock haha.
It’s because many believe that Hanzo is more about luck than skill, due to his abilities in Overwatch.
It was pretty much the same thing when the Sniper in Team Fortress 2 was given a bow and arrow. Everyone started to call it the “Lucksman” because of how easy it was to get a killing blow.
I also agree that Hanzo is not that interesting of a character to add, even if it makes sense since they added Genji.
To be fair, almost all of the heroes in HOTS have fairly basic kits compared to other MOBAs.
Yeah, I’m waaaaaaaaaaay more psyched about Alexstrasza. But look at it this way —
Maybe
if his kit
is *just* bad enough
nobody will play him!
I can dream, can’t I?
Have you learned nothing from Overwatch? XD It just means people will be more stubborn about playing him.
Yep, and just like in Overwatch, people will think you are throwing the match if you pick him. XD
Side Note: Blizzard announced new Overwatch Skins featuring characters from their other universes.
I mean, it looks to be that Alexstrasa is coming before him, and at the least, she’ll be biding me over until the hero after Hanzo (Supposedly a Firebat based Hero from SC).
You don’t need better aim, you just need lots and lots more Hanzo!
Simple geometry
Until the Hanzo comes Hanzo down the Hanzo
well. he aint in hearthstone yet.
