I said it on the previous page too! The girl is buff and blonde, like it was in Futurama. I’m fairly sure, this is either an intentional reference by Tim, or a subconscious one.

Weird conversation. And why did she assume his best friend is a woman?
Absolutely agree with the red flags.
She’s so absolutely full of red flags. Constantly interrupting him and putting herself above him (“I’ll go easy on you”, “I could just carry you around”)
I’m sorry for whatever you went through. Virtual hugs buddy.
And not to get too dark, but even in the context of the comic’s lore, Ethan has already mentioned that his “respawning” doesn’t take away all the pain he goes through. So as much as we joke about “death by snu snu”, abusive partners are hell on earth.
As someone who has been very deeply affected by someone with tons of red flags that I missed or ignored… I hear you. Quite frankly, Tim’s nailed the narc dialogue.
Probably both knowing Ethan’s luck. He’ll have good luck in that he gets laid and he has a crazy good time with her, but he’ll have bad luck in that she’ll turn out to be completely crazy when she can’t control him.
Note, you said a few red flags, this is more than a few and they are pretty big flags as well. Sure, you can have your fun but expect in the future to get some trouble from a psychotic ex that is going to cause problems for you.
Oh good, I wasnโt the only one to get who this person is.

This is just gender stereotypes flipped. If a taller guy ordered for a woman, assumed she had a male friend helping her run the store, assumed she wasn’t good at games, and flirted shamelessly with her, a lot of people wouldn’t be bothered.
Pretty sure it would evoke an even stronger reaction here, with only a few not seeing the problem. I think it would feel even more dangerous for a man trying to dominate a woman, and people would be weirded out by the woman liking the “pick you up and carry you around” line in the last panel, screaming for her to run to safety.
All the red flags she’s showing are also red flags from men. The gender doesn’t matter for this behavior. I understand that society has a different view, on average, though.
You’re probably right but that kinda makes it boring then. Like the majority of men already understand this isn’t acceptable behavior, and the only ones that don’t aren’t gonna care anyway. So we’re just being taught a lesson we really didn’t need to learn.
Big difference between assertive and controlling. I’m a guy who does stuff like order for someone, on occasion, if there’s a reason and I know them well enough. “Hey, I know this place pretty well. You mind if I order for us?”
To do it for a date you literally only said hello to so far is bad. If I saw a female friend or relative on a first date getting treated like this, it would raise a shitload of red flags.
Right, but the fact you ask, shows you care.
I kind of did this once to a friend where we went to a restaurant and told him, “I know already what you going to order anyway, but you can take a look at the menu”.
Same vibes, but a person you literally just met and going like this is a big #FF0000 flag…
Pretty sure it’d draw more outrage if it was a man doing that, these are red flags that I hear women bring up fairly frequently about men.

To give the red flags a description: 1. Checking Ethan’s competence with the app to see if they know what’s normal. (If they don’t, you can get away with more). 2. Interrupting most if his talks, controlling the conversation and keeping him off balance, causing him to react plainly to her questions. 3. Fishing for other females that might be competing, or able to tell him something’s wrong. 4. Boasting about her abilities, degrading Ethan in the process by “playing at his level” if they play together. Picking someone up as mentioned in the last panel is also a form… Read more »
I was getting Dom-looking-for-Sub vibes last comic along with the initial red-flag of ordering over him, but you caught a couple of the further red flags in this one that I didn’t. As a generally-good guy, I don’t often think about predatory dating practices like fishing for competition and checking his dating competence. Scary stuff.
Run away, Ethan! RUN!!

I wonder if she is actually Deathblood, SamusIsAGirl trope and all that. She’s got the muscles, toned breasts can look like pecs, and voice changer is easy.
Uuuh, she’s too interested in his store and in his friend’s name. Maybe it’s me, but I think that’s a huge red flag when you and your friend have a secret identity

I despise people that hold back in multiplayer games. It’s so disrespectful
If it is someone who has clearly not played something as much as I have, I gladly hold back to make sure everyone has fun. To me, I don’t have to win, as long as we are having a good time.
I dunno, if it’s someone new or someone not as skilled as me, I’ll hold back some to make sure we all have some fun. Like when my nephews were younger, I held back in games, so we all have fun. Of course, if they got cocky and arrogant thinking they were better than me, then I’d immediately play at my full ability and knowledge and stomp them flat and remind them that their uncle was just being nice and allowing them to have fun and learn to get better.

Props for making me go “Eugh” on blondie. Curious if she is only the “Ms-RedFalg-Date” character type, or if she has anything else going on for her.
If someone is that much of a red flag, don’t bother finding out if there are things going for the person. You’ll be on for a world of hurt and abuse.

While I agree with the comments that she’s either crazy or toxic or a villain, I have another SMALL possibility. He… is an idiot. (Shocker, I know). And when filling out his online profile, he either used the wrong app or filled in some very coded words in such a way as to save space. Like instead of “I love playing ON the Switch” he said “I loving playing the Switch” – as in the role of a Switch. Or instead of “I’ve sub’ed to a lot of games” he wrote “I sub often.” You can see where I’m going… Read more »
I thought that too but I’m pretty sure Lucas helped him with using the correct app after he screwed up already

I was checking for an adam’s apple- but then saw Ethan didn’t have one, either. Not judging but it is a possible “Ethan selected the wrong looking-for” situation/typical Ethan.Add to that, if so, the assumption could be “best friend/business partner” would be a female.
This conversation fits both situations- gender flip and gender swap. Clever.
I detect an alarming lack of virtue in this woman, while Deathblood uses his virtue to commit murder. If she’s a super, she applies skin-darkening make-up to become Captain Prime.
Yeah. I can see the red flags here. Though I assume this grenade will take a bit to burst so hey, maybe heโll have some fun with the time he between now and when this inevitably crashes.

I am seriously surprised at the amount of people who arenโt tying this blonde controlling woman to a previous blonde controlling woman.
This better not awaken something in me…
Don’t fear the awakening.
Too late
if you’re saying that then it’s already too late
I see a possible future of much leather and whips and masks and handcuffs and such … ๐
Guess he’s going to test his resurrection powers via death by snu-snu.
I said it on the previous page too! The girl is buff and blonde, like it was in Futurama. I’m fairly sure, this is either an intentional reference by Tim, or a subconscious one.
Weird conversation. And why did she assume his best friend is a woman?
She’s jealous already. Red flags are gushing out like the fountains of blood from a scene of Deathblood vigilante “justice”.
Absolutely agree with the red flags.
She’s so absolutely full of red flags. Constantly interrupting him and putting herself above him (“I’ll go easy on you”, “I could just carry you around”)
I’m really getting very bad flashbacks here.
fishing. Being wrong is a way easier way to get answers than asking.
I was under the impression that she’s assuming Ethan was cheating on his GF and being shy about it. Dunno, like you said, it seemed weird.
Not an assumption. Just a…fishing expedition…that let’s her find out subtly whether he has a female “friend” of any kind she should know about.
She’s fishing. We’ll probably see more leading/presumptive questions like this.
“I like her. She looks like she could throw me over her shoulder and carry me to safety, should the need arise.”
Shadowheart observing Karlach
At this point, the big red flags are waving their own red flags….
Red flags are having a flag-fest together. But hey with his presumed still available super powers, whats the worse that can go wrong? (jinxed it)
Oh honey. I could tell you, but it would get deleted instantly.
Let’s just say some things can fuck you up for a very very long time. And the red flags are unfortunately pointing into that direction.
I see Flags within Flags ….
I see two great houses … sorry got distracted there.
Quite frankly, Tim’s nailed the narc dialogue.
well, respawn powers need a very specific condition to activate, and the flags we’re all seeing don’t point towards that condition
Red flags or sexy flags?
Probably both knowing Ethan’s luck. He’ll have good luck in that he gets laid and he has a crazy good time with her, but he’ll have bad luck in that she’ll turn out to be completely crazy when she can’t control him.
There are more red flags than at a military parade of the Soviet Union on the Red Square.
Little does she know, red flags are my kink!
a few red flags doesn’t mean there can’t be a few rounds of fun…
Note, you said a few red flags, this is more than a few and they are pretty big flags as well. Sure, you can have your fun but expect in the future to get some trouble from a psychotic ex that is going to cause problems for you.

I’ve pointed out the similarities in the comments of the previous panel. I’m glad I’m not the only one!
Thanks for the interpretion, that makes sense. At first I thought it was something against tall women, but this makes much more sense.
Absolutely agree. Especially because you wouldn’t have half the comment section going full on horny for a walking red flag
It is precisely gender-roles flipped, but that’s how we know.
A man cutting off his date’s attempt to order, to order for her, is absolutely a classic big red-flag.
The rest could be excused as quirky, but not that.

I’d be bothered. That’s like literally how all the guys in Mad Men acted all the time and they were assholes.
I would. I *hate* disrespectful behaviour like that.
In this day and age, it is pretty much seen as a red flag for both genders to have someone be so domineering and controlling on the first date.
Pretty sure it’d draw more outrage if it was a man doing that, these are red flags that I hear women bring up fairly frequently about men.

Thank you for the detailed breakdown here!
As much as it’s a follow up to the previous page, it goes deeper here so I’d add this as another crimson bloddy dripping red flag:
Paying for a drink and dismissing the need to share the bill as a means of establishing finacial superiority.
