I still like the idea that someone suggested where he matches the friend of Lilah. She’ll have more to do than just being a supporting character, though hopefully not only as a woman pining for a main character.
CAD2.0 does not need to be a mirror of the first one. Some things can be the same, others different. The love arc with Lilah can be tumultuous, and then result in something that isn’t a relationship between the two. Growth, even if the love doesn’t result in anything.
You can love animals and not own them. I, for example, love dogs, but I would never, ever, ever own one. I’d also love to own a ferret, but they’re incredibly expensive to treat for medical issues if you can even find a vet for them.

I maybe wouldn’t trust Ethan with caring for any living thing. He’s the kind of person from whom you hear stories about decapitating a parrot while closing a cupboard door (based on real events; the parrot was playfully hanging down on the top edge of the door, the girl slammed the door without noticing. I don’t remember how old she was, maybe 7-10).

I’d play around with the skin tone of wheelchair dude whose name escapes me at the moment. That color looks like an aliens idea of a “non-descript” human ethnic skin tone.

More likely to me: Ethan ends up opening up to Lilah about joining a dating app in his personal life and asks for a girl’s perspective. Lilah ends up seeing Ethan on said app and figures out his alter ego.
