Apparently, Lucas has all the hallmarks of a speedrunner – the guy skipped straight to Bargaining stage.

Makes me almost wonder if respawning leaves the brain in a temporarily immature state

That’s……not actually a bad theory.

I mean, our brain’s physical structure does evolve/change as we learn/experience stuff. It is possible that Ethan’s developmental growth has been hampered by the resets.

That could get a little dark actually.

Lucas, you can tell it, you are comfortable in a stable relationship…is nice.

Also, don’t worry, in a year or two the feeling disappears (as some scientific papers say) 😅.

If I recall correctly, he’s not against stable relationships… It’s just that he’s having it with a cop.

Actually, the thing with the cop is a different thing. Lucas has shown again and again that he views a long term relationship as being dangerous and incompatible with being a superhero and having a hidden identity – not to mention, having a liability. He’s not gone so far as to say “Committed relationships are terrible” but his advice was what keeps steering Ethan away from Lilah, what contributed to the friction between Ethan and Emily and keeping secrets, and he’s straight up told Ethan that the way he handles relationships is simpler and safer. I don’t think the anxiety… Read more »

I don’t think this really has anything to do with Ethan questioning him, I imagine anyone could’ve gotten the same reaction. More likely Ethan is just the first (and likely only) person other than Ben to (recently) interact with Lucas often enough to make the observation.

I’d say you’re more correct with Lucas simply having general misgivings about stable relationships not getting along with secret identities. And now realizing he is in a stable relationship anyway.

I wonder what Lucas is trying to deny more here – that he is dating a cop after giving Ethan trouble about crushing on a reporter, or slipping into a stable relationship when he always emphasized how much he preferred his bachelor lifestyle.

reminded me of Palermo’s “boom-boom-ciao” theory (from Money Heist)

There could also be a dose of “Since Ethan’s powers possibly went offline, I’ve been able to have a relatively normal life. The closer that I get to Ben, the closer that all the Analog and D-Pad stuff starts to seem like something that I don’t really want to go back to.” It’s a concept rarely explored in comics outside of What If?, Watchmen, and comic tales set in the future but End-Of-History Illusion shows us that we are rarely ever finished products. The whole Analog and D-pad thing may have been right for the time but, during the period… Read more »

Something was bugging me, and I’ve finally found it. Their store has a very strange stock-placement system. Rather than grouping all the copies of a game together, it distributes each title evenly along the length of the shelf.

I’m pleased I’ve found it, but somehow also very ashamed?

I like the under counter shelf, with exactly one copy of dozens of different games. Obviously a photo of someone’s games shelf at home to save time but it also kinda makes it look like Ethan just treats the store as an extension of home

To be fair, that the same placement and look of every used games sale shelf at any video game store I’ve been in. (Previously love games in the table-top stores tend to be back in the gap between where tabletop RPGs, board games, and collectibles all meet — and I”m just now realizing that one…)

Fill random houses with cheese and then…. what? Inquiring minds need to know (and then possibly duplicate the results)

It’s been done in Skyrim, but console versions quickly become low-framerate nightmares.

Hmmm… is Ben the ‘missing piece’ for Lucas, or has he used his investigative cop skills to piece together Lucas’ ‘extracurricular’ activities, something else, or all of the above?

Did Tim tweak his art style again? Ethan is looking a bit scrawnier and his hair is a tad messier.

Ethan is probably losing some muscle mass since he’s not gallivanting all over the city.

This is where I really want to see Lucas’ boyfriend respond to Lucas trying to break it off with, “Why, because you’re a superhero?”

And then when Lucas is sitting there doing his best impersonation of a fish out of water with the mouth-flapping, “Because I’ve known since we met, your costume is only slightly less obvious than Superman’s.”

Look if someone’s relationship/sex/friendship is so good that your other friends/loved ones etc consider it an ‘addiction’ up to a point i consider that a good thing!

I like that Ethan has zero problems with Lucas seeing the cop. I bet he’s fully on board with running the risk so Lucas can be happy.
