That’s partially a myth; you need to collect 100 refined bananas. Due to the nature of bananas, refined ones are most commonly found as golden coins, though some people paint them or tint them for other uses.
One the best fights I’ve ever had, was me and another pirate, performing the following dance:
Step 1: Shoot each (badly) other with pistols
Step 2: Slowly eat a banana, while staring each other down
Step 3: Laboriously reload pistols
Step 4: Repeat until ammo runs out
Step 5: Panic and flail with swords, while frantically fleeing to eat more bananas.
Step 6: Friendship
I’m guessing that the context for this is that eating bananas heals all wounds in the game? For some reason my first thought was that the game was so incomplete that bananas were the default shape and size for any object which did not yet have a physical model defined in the game. Kind of how, if a script in Neverwinter Nights tried to call a summon and the “blueprint” for the summon didn’t exist, it would instead summon a naked dwarf (well, as naked as characters can become in the unmodified NWN, which isn’t exactly naked since they’ll always… Read more »
I expect them to have more types of healing items.
Like Apples and Hot Chocolate and Pineapple and Oranges and Coconut. Also probably some type of beverage (imagine drinking fruit juice and then your wound heals XD)
Maybe scurvy will become a minor issue? So then you have to occasionally consume fruits with varying scores (oranges and apples having the highest) to keep yourself in the best condition
Correct, all wounds are healed by eating bananas. It’s one of the primary supplies you want to maintain a stock of. (The others are cannonballs and wooden planks) I strongly doubt there will be other foodstuffs as anything beyond cosmetic, given that there is an inventory wheel of management (that doesn’t have a clean way to branch into a list of foods) and they’re expressly making it a non-level/gear based game. Everyone’s gear is mechanically the same, whether it’s a noob pistol, or a fancy Admiral one. A cosmetic shift that uses the same item space/barrel would be cool though.… Read more »
Coconuts? Heh, you’re forgetting about the number one stereotypical thing for pirates to be ingesting…. GROG!

This guy with the bananas in his stomach and the worm-colony-guy from your space epic are the two creepiest things I’ve ever seen in this web-comic.

I must point out that crow’s nests weren’t invented when pirates sailed the seas… There’s also something wrong with the way bananas are used in this comic, but I cannot quite put my finger on what… :/
In this universe, the Crow’s Nest was invented in the early 1100’s, but didn’t catch on for a while, and bananas have a genetic mutation that gives them incredible regenerative qualities.
Both weapon and medicine. Marvelous!
they cannot not be slippery for comic relief
*can not, cannot not is double negative aka positive
I wrote it exactly how I meant to write it
“They cannot not be slippery for comic relief”
:”They can’t not be slippery for comic relief
“They cannot be slippery for comic relief”
How is it comic relief if they’re not slippery?
He means that it is impossible for them to stop being slippery for comedic relief the double negative is intentional
“They can’t not be not anti-unslippery” (But for real, I got what you were going for fod)
Can’t and not cancel each other out. This makes the sentence read, “They be slippery for comic relief.”
However you got from “can’t not” to “cannot”, stop doing that. “Can’t” is a contraction of “cannot”, so you dropped a “not”.
double negatives don’t have the same meaning as single positives, clear and easy example:
“I can eat potatoes” is not the same as “I can’t not eat potatoes”
I guess because “I can eat potatoes” means you have a choice. Where “I can’t not eat potatoes” means that you have no choice but to eat potatoes.
Why else do you think the Kremlings kept stealing the banana hoard? Heck, with a hundred of them, you can even bring someone back from the dead.

Explains some things about the Yiga clan, too.

wish there was context…this one I don’t understand
Bananas are the only healing item in Sea of Thieves.
Clearly, they hadn’t invented duct tape at this point. 😀
Duct Tape is so potent that you can just wrap some on your arm and it will lessen brain hemorrhaging.
hey tim whats your view towards fortnite
Meh.
I hear they scale.
