I know this is a game-oriented comic, but that big guy should have been named “family time”… 😀

I’m guessing since it’s set during the evening, it’s meant to be post-kids’-bedtime.
Of course, you could have meant something very different (wink wink, nudge nudge, say-no-more), and you’d have a valid point… but I’d be a little concerned that you’re calling it “family time.”

One should probably assume that “free time” is the actual free time left over after holiday family obligations have been met. Tim is the kind of family oriented guy who wouldn’t let his family compete with his video games for attention. They come first straight out of the starting line.

You forgot Andre The “Kid Emergency*” Giant with that lineup. 😉
*ie. Crying fits, tantrums, requests to play, etc. Here’s to hoping you don’t have something more serious happen.

New player “Steam Sales” has entered the game

That’s just the protein shake that steam backlog drinks
Guest
Lilitha
Isn’t “steam sale” just the steam backlog from next year?

Odin
lucky you, my steam “hulk” backlog wouldn’t fit in one panel, and my free time is the size of ant-man… 🙁

Great reference, especially when he becomes Giant Man after quitting his day job (per recent MCU movies, not the comic representation)

Kenju
Forget Giant Man, my Steam Backlog is freaking Galactus at this point, with Steam Sales as his herald >.<

Minro
are you implying that your steam backlog is starting to generate it’s own gravity?
Guest
Kenju
…yes.

My steam backlog is not in that good a shape!

Have a wonderful holiday and enjoy your time with your family.
As to the comic. Your free time is remarkably robust.

Yeah – kinda funny – the message says taking time off for family time but the picture says you intend to not provide a comic to play games 🙂
If you read, the ref says this fight is over “Wednesday evening,” and Tim says he’s taking off THURSDAY for family time. 😉

Ever seen Francisco de Goya’s painting of the Titan Saturn devouring his sons? That’s the relationship that my Steam backlog has with my “free” time.
I don’t even own a console.

The three on the right are going to duke it out for who gets the guy on the left, yes?

I think it’s more meant to be a tag-team situation.

Tim
Nah, Steam Backlog just has the other two for moral support.

I don’t have a Steam backlog, but I did take the $1 Xbox PC for 3 months offer, so I’ll be busy for 3 months.
I did get the Steam controller for $5 ($14 after delivery/tax). Even if it’s crap, I’d pay $14 to experience it.

I just started Skyrim for the first time. My free time is in the corner crying pitifully.
Ooo. Yeah, um… if you’re anything like me, free time is probably, PROBABLY going to be huddled there for the next few years. Or less, depending on the strength of the greaves your character wears, and whether there’s solid plate armor protecting the knee.
Fair travels, Dovahkiin. May you walk on warm sands.

And that is to say before installing/tweaking/playing with some epic mods. Skyrim in total (Legendary and later SE) takes about 2k in-game hours of my life. XD

Skyrim was my main obsession for about a year, but I got distracted by the NMS Beyond update, which pulled me back in for a few months. Then recently I got into Elite Dangerous, had to decide between that or Witcher III. I had bought both about 18 months back, but decided to start playing E:D; then got my son interested, so we have been playing for about a month now. And just yesterday another big update for NMS dropped, so many distractions.

lol i have the opposite problem, nothing to play T_T

Meaning you either have no system or solved the mystery of time travel. 😉
Psh, that would suggest he’d have hundreds of fantastic games to play on his PlayStation 17, XBox π, or Nintendo Kumquat.

I’m so proud of myself for having eliminated most of my Steam backlog in the past year. After hiding games I tried but didn’t like from my game’s list and making myself start game after game from my Steam library, I’m now at a mere 13 unbeaten games. 😀 Starting another game on Steam is always the hardest part for me. I always get really into it once I get going, but getting going is something I inexplicably procrastinate. I wish I would have been able to hide less games, but I bought quite a lot of stuff (~60 games)… Read more »

If you release this comic with blank labels for the fighters names, it will become a meme really quickly…

k.a.e.b.
Honest question here, not trying to be snarky in any way:
Why would you pay for one or more game subscription services while you have a substantial back-log of purchased games?
I know it’s not that uncommon, but it still baffles me.
Unless, of course, your bank account is overflowing with discretionary funds.
