The bravery is not about not knowing the fear, only the mads don’t know the fear. To be brave is to be able of control your fear.
(Don’t know why, but think that Scott is going to hit him and tell him to stop being a fool, that he is alive and should enjoy what he has).
At least he does have a valid point about it not necessarily being a hoax. Analog deliberately ‘dying’, assuming he’ll just respawn and it not working would be a solid troll move too.
Until there’s some more information about what the Troll stuff may or may not have done, it’s probably safest to assume to it worked. Now he just needs to dial back to the normal levels of concern about death.
Yeah, in case of Ethan it is a problem, because his power is based on him dying.
If Lucas would have been the target he would have known if the serum was real, because he would see if he can still shoot Arrows or not. Basicly with any other power than Ethans, it would be easy to see if the power was cured.
I think it hardly possible that the Troll plans Analog to die assuming he will respawn. Ethan won’t suffer at all, and he will die off screen, in his true identity, from unknown reason. Hell, the Troll will never know if he succeeded. It’s just not satisfying this way
Besides, there’s one last troll, and it’s a bit… darker.
IF Ethan plays it safe for now, is super careful… he’ll eventually find out anyways.
I mean, we all die one day.
But if it turns out it’s a hoax… then he’ll have spent years not doing anything to help people who needed him. People will have died, because he was too afraid.
And at the very end, after all his friends and family have died, and he’s left alone, persisting, he’ll be wishing it was real after all.

Whether or not the Troll was lying, this was a genius move. Massive kudos to Tim for coming up with this incredible scenario.

Now, literally, I’m just wondering what’s going to happen to force his hand and make him risk his life for the very first time.
He hasn’t really lost any ability. Everything that made him a great hero, is his own training, knowhow, and lack of fear. All of that is still in his grasp. He can do exactly the same thing as he always did.
Except I can’t recall very many situations he was in where he didn’t wind up using his ability, so he could try to do exactly the same thing, but he wouldn’t succeed.
That’s not really true though. He may still have his training, but his power is usually the only reason he survived his heroic efforts. The Master’s first wave of roboninja’s, Demolition Duke, even Power glove thief guy required a respawn to stop. If I remember correctly The Troll and Zeke are the only real villain encounters (I don’t count spray paint speedster for that) where Analog didn’t ‘die’, and that was mostly because they weren’t interested in killing him. As far as I am aware, the only instant death artery you have to worry about is in your upper thigh. I’m pretty sure Scott, like most people would prefer Ethan keep his pants on at all times and has no intention of drawing blood from there lol
I think it is just artery. When I had surgery and they were checking my heart they could go in one of two arteries to get where they want. The abdomen and the wrist. The surgeons were insistent on telling me how it could kill me. If the pressure cuff slipped I could bleed out before anyone could reach me at a dead run.
There’s more than that one, in you neck and your arm pit are both a fast bleed-out points. That’s why the “sleeper hold” actually works, I’ve done it myself a few times. But despite TV and movie tropes, it doesn’t last long, nor is it safe to use. Too much pressure or if you hold it for more than the 10-12 seconds it takes to kick in, you’ll kill then by rendering them brain dead. If you grab a guy’s wrist and yank it high, followed by 2-3 blows to the arm pit, you can numb your opponent’s side for… Read more »

I think we’re getting a bit of nostalgia with Ethan 1.0 because he does seem to be somewhat flying off the handle a bit more. At least that’s what it feels like to me.
I’m not saying that’s what the serum did to him, but I do feel like Ethan’s behaving just a bit like Past Ethan.

Technically, they still have some serum to try it on Lucas and see the result. But it feels more like time for another accidental intervention from Lilah.
At least. Lucas is being more forthcoming about Scott running tests even if he hasn’t specifically mentioned the syringe.

Step 1: Analog fakes his own death.
Step 2: News covers the death of local superhero Analog, who despite losing his powers of invulnerability, rushed to, I dunno, save some kids in a burning building or something.
Step 3: Troll is closely monitored when he hears the news, for his reaction.
Step 4: We don’t view it as conclusive evidence anyways because this is the TROLL, dammit, and he lives for this stuff.
No, that would actually be a decent plan if you have access to the troll’s reaction. If he knew the stuff was fake, he might show definitive confusion at the idea that Analog died after getting a fake power-cure. We’ve already seen that he gets visibly rattled when things don’t go to plan for him.
If the Troll is just sitting in a prison cell, you can dispense with steps 1 and 2 and just create a fake news broadcast to play for him and judge the reaction that way.

At first I thought Ethan was overreacting but then I remembered that this was a character who managed to accidentally kill himself in the back room of his game store so I can understand where he’s coming from.

One Troll move we haven’t seen yet: doxxing. Ethan WALKED home from the crime scene. Who’s to say he wasn’t followed? If an army of Troll boogeymen were hanging out by Ethan’s apartment (or even just occasionally visiting), they could really do a number on his psyche.

That is interesting to think. Normally you dont worry about dying that much but if given immortality for a few years and then got it taken away, how would you go back to normal?
