Funny how a game from last year can suddenly skyrocket into popularity due Fall Guys and Twitch Streamers. It is a good, simple game though. It got lucky but I think it deserves its fame right now.
Pfft, me and my friends played this game a ton back in summer of 2002. Called it ‘Mafia.’ You wouldn’t BELIEVE how low the system requirements were back then.
Town of Salem and Throne of Lies are a lot more like Mafia. Among Us is not so turn-based, simplifies the roles to crew/impostor, and adds tasks and vents. It’s definitely rooted in Mafia, but saying that you played it in 2002 when you played Mafia is kind of like saying you played Diablo 2 back in the ’80s when you were playing the ASCII-based Rogue.
And the part where dead people still have a small role (finish tasks) and can see what’s going on, so dying first isn’t quite as disappointing as it is in traditional mafia.
Either I’m very poor at telling jokes, or you’re very poor at understanding them.
Yes. They are not the same thing. Playing a video game affords more features, yet also limits the level of interaction you can have with others, compared to just hanging out in person.
It is meant to be a tongue-in-cheek joke about a video game emulating a non-gaming activity. Like Divinity: Original Sin II and D&D, Pong and Table Tennis, Resident Evil and grocery shopping during Covid. Lighten up.

Among Us is one of the greatest murder mystery games I’ve played since I was introduced to Clue in my primary years. Watching my friends blame each other for something they did or did not do while defending themselves is amazing fun.

It’s nice and funny to see Ethan freak out over something they do to make him freak out for a change.

You should have seen them in 1978. 🙂

I literally found out on my 10th game that dead people could finish tasks…I felt so bad for being a lazy spectre.

I dunno, Blue is looking kinda sus…
That sounds like something an IMPOSTOR would say.
Just amused by the difference between upvoting comments and in-game. Death by clever comment!
I’d love to see Zeke get in on the shenanigans
I mean.
How do you know he’s not?
Only one of them regenerates, leaving only two potential human suits left in the store.
Lucas should have said he was doing Wires. It’s always wires they are doing when asked.
Join the discussion…I always see the medbay on memes and in game excuse.
Dont be mean to stupid people
It’s funny.
It wont be funny when Ethan takes his revenge on all you bullies by getting Zeke to castrate you all.
Ethan’s not *stupid*, per se, he just put an 8 in his Wisdom stat.
…or maybe just a 6…
He decided to go to desk alone, he knew what he was getting into!

Revenge is a dish best served post mortem.
