That and it doesn’t guarantee 1’s character is going there when he dies and could be punished as well for attempting to take his father’s soul to the living world.

“Divine Bitch Slap.” That needs to be made into a specific power/spell/etc. (I know next to nothing about D&D).

It’s already in DnD. Paladins have Divine Smite which deals extra radiant damage on a melee weapon attack and and unarmed strike is classified as a simple melee weapon! Now will your DM allow this? He better.

I imagined there would be a “holy physical melee attack” thing already, of course. What medieval fantasy game, rping or otherwise, doesn’t have that? I should’ve been more clear. I was picturing more something like an attack that focuses on intimidating/mentally affecting the target so they stand down, than sheer damage.

Some people might feel this goes against the idea/flavor of a paladin. I’d be cool with it, especially since the player is making a choice to weaken their own attacks by not using weapons. Could be useful in a prison break. But not everyone plays the same game and DM still makes the final call. I’d say your idea would be more in just letting player roll an intimidation check. Maybe use the attack roll instead of skill check roll. No real rules in 5e afaik. You could also use “wrathful smite” paladin spell which does some psychic damage and… Read more »
