Ah, but If justifiable homicide was a legitimate legal defence, the U.S justice system would be even more broken than it already is. …Which is a nice vision of High Octane Nightmare Fuel (on acid).

…the sale of axes and sniper rifles would go through the roof…

The US actually HAS justifiable homicide: https://www.law.cornell.edu/wex/justifiable_homicide as a “legitimate legal defence[sic].”

We do have justifiable homicide in the US, but it only applies in certain situations.
