This hypothetical game fits the same cathegory of “Pokémon MMO” and “Mortal Kombat vs. Street Fighter”: it’d be so awesome, its mere existence would ruin civilization.
Pokemon GO is an MMO in almost all of the senses of the term, good and bad.
If you said that, say, Pokemon Sun and Moon were MMOs you would be mistaken as that is a game which requires multiple people to fully complete, but it is not a MMO
PoGo is not an MMO because you don’t run around a big open world with dozens of other players on the same screen as you. It’s really BARELY multiplayer at all.
Not on the same screen no. But otherwise it is more or less MMO worthy. Massively Multiplayer Online game.
M: Really big world map.
M: You don’t see the other people but they are around there. Gyms and such.
O: Internet connection to play.
I’m not saying Pokemon GO is a good game or a bad game, just that it is classifiable as MMO.
That’s a MMORPG. That’s different. For a while there was an MMO Pong game (which was kind of awesome, in its own way). MMOGs do not have to involve Role Playing Game elements. They simply have to be Massive Multiplayer Online Games.
Mmmm, as awesome as the idea is, I think they had a swing at that formula with “The Force Unleashed”. That or the “God of War” formula, which is arguably a cousin to the Musou games like “Dynasty/Samurai Warriors” and “Orochi” series crossovers.
Weak story aside, The Force Unleashed was wonderfully visceral. Any game like this is going to get a little repetitive, but I can honestly say that I never got tired of trashing stormtroopers.
As cool as it was to see Darth Vader being badass, I wouldn’t personally want to play as him. I want the Rebels to win, after all. Murdering them is SLIGHTLY counter-intuitive to that, lol.

I hate to say it, but the prequel movies would be made for this. Playable choices from Mace Windu and Master Yoda to Darth Maul and Jango Fett; the chance to massacre droid armies, the whole damn gungan army, clone troopers, wookies, jedi younglings…
I’m probably not a very good person for posting that last item :-S
Star Wars Battle Front II had some pretty cool missions designed around the prequel trilogy, so yeah, I could imagine the prequel trilogy working as a setting for a Musou just as well.
As awkward the story of the prequel trilogy was, the setting was still pretty neat.

Scott’s good at making people cream their pants using just words. I bet he’s still single though. Man, the arc when we get to hear about Scott’s past with Ethan is going to be so fun if they were like this as children already. xD

I sincerely hope this happens. I’ve been playing Dynasty Warriors since 2 and it’s been a guilty pleasure ever since…

This made my day. My brother and I loved Dynasty Warriors starting with DW2 as a launch title on the PS2, and after playing it with Troy and Gundam (that one was terrible) it makes WAY too much sense not to do this crossover.

The final scene? Where the main character dies forgotten on a beach? Um.
So the game sounds like ham.
I’m all down for Dynasty Warriors Sandwiches, but this ain’t kosher.

Sadly, that game will never exist until the late 2020’s or so. Why? Electronic Arts having the exclusive rights to Star Wars games, that’s why. There’s not a demand for it on the market and we can’t have EA thinking for themselves.
Yes, I’m salty that they closed Visceral Games because of “market demands” and I won’t hide it.
Gotta be honest here I completely agree with you on the Visceral games thing. Apparently they were making a GOOD Star Wars game and they couldn’t have that so now they are taking said game and taking a giant shit on it.
Oh I’m MADE of salt over that. That’s two story-based Star Wars games (remember 1313) in recent memory that have been killed off before we got our hands on them 🙁
1313 looked like it was going to be a great premise too. But EA can’t mix in loot crates with great single player story games. So time to kill it off and rub crap all over it until it can.
Well, that means either a Star Wars RPG or Kingdom Hearts.
*deep thinking*
Of COURSE! KH3 isn’t coming out until 2022 or so because they want to make a star wars world in it! IT ALL MAKES SENSE NOW!
…if only.
All in favor of Big Hero 6 kicking out the Colosseum for the repeat battle mode thing? (Marvel doesn’t really fit the style of Kingdom Hearts)
I’ve heard that the license was going to last a decade and it was signed back in 2013.
Then again, you never know with EA. Disney might look at the sales and consider them good enough to renew it.

Great…now I want this more than anything. I was way happier before I knew how much I needed it, because I know we’re never going to be lucky enough to get it.

I think it may be possible of both sides provide everything that allows it. Star Wars characters appeared in Soul Calibur before and it was awesome. I remember I specifically used Darth Vader to use that pit toss throw every time I wanted ringout. Problem is, some companies do these collabs, some don’t. I have no faith in EA.

What is up with the new pop up video ads? I had disabled ad blocker on this site but now I’m reenabling it because I don’t need to have videos playing about Jimmy Johns Sandwiches.
Why would you need to have audio on while reading a comic that isn’t animated/equipped with sounds? I have ad blocker off because I don’t really care; I just keep my eyes on the center of the screen and keep the sound muted until I play a game.

I’d play it. I’d also play Dynasty Warriors Power Rangers
This hypothetical game fits the same cathegory of “Pokémon MMO” and “Mortal Kombat vs. Street Fighter”: it’d be so awesome, its mere existence would ruin civilization.
Or it’d be like No Man’s Sky and be like “…oh”
I thought the Pokémon MMO was called Pokémon Go?
You were thinking of “Crap” not Pokemon MMO
Pokemon GO is not an MMO in any sense of the term…
Why not? Everyone plays online in the same, single world. In what way is it _not_ an MMO?

Or like “Open World Pokemon”
Hehe

Those are some of the worst games comparisons I’ve ever seen. Other than them being hack & slash games they have severely different formats.

Ok, now I HAVE to get a copy of Star Warriors.
The worst tease since Immortal Thirst.

no where darth vader massacres the rebels in that ships hallway
I think its the one where the troops are storming everything
Sounds like ass

Does that license expire in 2020? Because it’s about time that EA lost that license and it went to a different AAA developer.
Personally, I’d love to see what Square Enix does with it. It’d never happen, of course, but I’d love to see it.
Well, that means either a Star Wars RPG or Kingdom Hearts.
