The Feds have a ship in the area to bring back Cort and the Starcaster. Cort noticed the (poorly) undercover agents on the station and caused a distraction to help his escape from them. At the same time, Grin, the bounty hunter, is trying to capture Cort (dead or alive, but mostly dead) and the mafia just sent a fleet to assist with the capture. The Feds think the mafia is there to rescue Cort, not capture him, and are slugging it out with the Mafia. Grin stole a Fed fighter, but it’s weapons are disabled, so he has to… Read more »
My best guess, based on the number of comics in this Arc, and in previous arcs, is that the criminal group is sending everything they have against Cort, because failure means that the dragalax will utterly destroy them, so they have nothing to lose. Grin, using the Federation fighter, is tracking Cort to the station, by literally following Federation reports to his location. And, because of the embarrassment of losing Cort and the Starcaster, I think Grin is beyond self-preservation, and is going to try to kill him by any and all means necessary, even to his own life. and lets not forget that while all this chaos and mayhem is going on at the station, the Dragalax emperor just gave his little brother an armada and permission to conquer as many planets as he can get his hands on. So there’s that.
He doesn’t seem like the type to put himself in danger like that. He specifically used grenades in the Aug Temple so that he didn’t have to go near Speck.
But I can’t think what else he might do in these circumstances, so I agree that his plan probably rhymes with Schmollision Schmourse
But he used quake grenades that could have leveled the ancient temple. I’m not sure his self-preservation is as much a priority as fulfilling his urges.
Don’t forget that failure is not an option, and that his employers are dead, and he is dead, if they fail in their task to recover the Starcaster for the Dragalax
I’d say his fighter’s weapons are about to be activated, along with all the other federation fighters scrambling out of the hangar.

Given their luck so far, I’m guessing the beeping is either a call from Quell (a Quelling?) or a low-fuel indicator. Personally (and given the timing), I’m leaning towards the former.
I’d bet many monies the beeping is a collision course indicator.

This story moves so darn slow. Love the characters, love the story. Hate reading it 4-5 panels at a time.

He could just be blocking his pathway with the other ship.
Also, I think the fight is going to turn heavily in favor of the Federation soon, considering they have another Dreadstorm headed that way.

The Pirates or whatever they are are about to have a bad day, the smaller ships split up and to evade the larger cannons easier, but now the fighters are getting involved, 2 squadrons, maybe as many as 24 craft. (In the Navy we had 10 – 12 Hornets per squadron)
Also LOL at the low fuel warning person. That would be funny.

I would pay good money to see this adapted into an animated series.

I’m curious if there is a Space Ship version of a Tire Boot.

I sense a decision approaching about launching to get out of the way before Speck makes it back to the ship….
lol that page kinda looks like a sci-fi show recap
ooh, you big tease…
“Feet, do yo’ stuff!”
Or rather, in this case, “Take-off thrusters, do yo’ stuff!”
I’ll be honest I’m not entirely sure what’s happening at this point.

A quick guess as to what The Grin’s about to do.
Ramming speed.
