“and that’s how I got that kickass hook instead of a hand, neat, huh?”

Given the “shunk” sweep is yellowy/flesh coloured instead of a clean steely white, I’m guessing the hand suddenly adapted into a long point or sword like the molten teminators can from 2 onwards.

See this is what happens when you don’t read the instruction manual.

The it seems that we have discovered a preference for giving our protagonist a robot arm, would it not
eh, considering that the thing healed him from a fatal gunshot wound, probably has something in it to prevent the loss of a limb thus its forceful removal too

Guessing thats spek stabbing him in the chest with the broken leg.
Both severed legs have the knee hinges, which would make them terrible stabbing instruments unless you held it near the tip and I don’t think they’re sharp enough to go through armor anyway; certainly not with Speck’s strength being too low to penetrate Grin’s hide with anything less than a blade even if he could get his slippers on.
Or Speck dissolving his leg while the blade lands right next to Cort’s head

I’d not be surprised if the starcaster had some issues with that…

The Starcaster is supposed to grant almost magical healing powers, and I presume, it probably also grants some insane defenses, so bounty hunter is about to get some.
To insist on some math geekery, that would either be 192% of the current Ryder, or 92% more Ryder. 192% more would mean to take what we have now, and then add ANOTHER 192%, ending up with 292%.
Every time I see a supposedly professional swordsman stick a sword point first into the ground I die a little inside.

I am SO ANGRY at that past voting block for making Speck, instead of Nyrah, be the one to open the doors. Otherwise, they’d be on board, zipping past the fleet, turning The Starcaster Chronicles into an epic buddy road-trip flick, with one less nagging person tagging along.
KIDDING. Mostly. Unless Speck or Cort snuff it, then I absolutely mean it.

Guess the save Speck option was the wrong one… Oh well, time to roll up a couple new characters…
I joke… I doubt this is the end of our boy… Everyone needs a Luke Skywalker arm!

So either here comes a heroic sacrifice on the part of spec or the sword is gonna be stuck in ryders arm for giggles

Is this where we learn that Cort now has regenerative abilities on par with the cast of Devil May Cry? Like, the wound closes right behind the weapon, so he just loses stamina from blood loss and the stress of near-instant regen?
Or is it more like “shunk” *blade jammed in arm* *starcaster rejects foreign body in host limb, pushes it back out or just dissolves it out Wolverine-style*

well, star caster is pointing on good direction if it decides to activate
I doubt it would be that easy to get a Starcaster off a person’s arm by cutting it off. Otherwise people with Starcasters wouldn’t be nearly as feared I think.

@Tim The latest comic is uploaded, but isn’t showing on the website. Is there a reason for this? ? I’m writing this at 1:53 a.m. eastern. This has been going on for a while.

Oooooo good call

I’m thinking Nyrah jumps in the way instead of starting the ship

Nah, the starcaster will just heal the severed arm into a whole new Ryder.
Starcaster Chronicles, now with 192% more Ryder!

I was going to ask where the last 8% was, and then I realized that there would still be one Cort without an arm.
Well played, mate.
So, the starcaster is also a Witchblade?
Well that didn’t last long
I get the feeling he was stopped

Got to hand it to them, that was a quick turnaround.
Or arm it to them …
Sounds like it hit metal
