Ahh ya, some things never change. Finds what appearently is only “one of the most powerful…” weapons? whats more powerful, or did she simply mean there are other starcasters. But even with that find they are still in debt.
Well the starcasters are certainly in a plurality, but theres always the door open to other super-weapons. Im sure theres some sort of orbital bombard or surface defense weapon thats also dangerous, but not equally portable.
I would probably interpret that like there are other augish devices, powerful, but not as useful. Like super doors for another Aug temple — completely impenetrable even by starcaster but what can you do with an impenetrable immovable door?
You say immovable… what are the walls made out of?
On a related note: don’t put adamantine doors in a place where the walls aren’t stronger than that, or people will steal your doors by breaking everything around them.
Typo in the second panel, should be “almost” instead of amost. 🙂

Honestly reading that all I can think of is “what would’ve happen if they joined the Federation”. On the one hand, they would have had the resources, on the other something else would definitely go wrong, otherwise it wouldn’t be an adventure. So what? Would the feds cut off Cort’s arm? Would he activate the starcaster subconsciously?
I misread ‘sandy and purple sky is purty’ as ‘sad and purple is pretty’ and somehow thought you meant that Nyrah looked pretty because she was sad. And also that you were comparing her to the background.

“You’re saying we have more bills than resources. I’m hearing “we have to camp out here for a few weeks while we fill enough bottles with Mimion goop””
I read that as: time to start handcrafting with a starcaster; if it can created mountains and valleys, it might actually be possible to glue on thoae rocks in a functional fashion

Who are the idiots that create these doomsday weapons?!
As far as I remember and/or understand Nyrah’s words, the Starcaster is not supposed to be just a weapon. It’s that certain people use them that way, which in turns forces other people to do the same to protect themselves (even if they would have better uses for them). I don’t remember what else it is capable of doing, but I’d guess terraforming?

You never know. With a bit of practice, it might be possible to use the S/C to refine raw materials and then shape them into something that can be used to patch up the ship. Maybe even a bit of welding.
Water is a raw material so he might even be able to make that so that’s one less thing to worry about as far as personal sustenance goes.

I know it would stretch things out, but I hope Tim doesn’t just gloss over the “metaphysics and mystique” involved in training.
It can be a surreal experience with much potential, and interesting insights into plenty of things. From Cort’s mind and heart, to the Aug’s secrets and the very nature of that universe.

Yeah, that would have been *bad* to say the least.

Tim, I had a quick question. I really like the Starcaster Chronicles and I understand it’s a Patreon-only format? Which tier level allows access to the comic?

Obviously the walls are even impenetrabler!
You could call it a wall, for starters.

They would probably want Cort to join them which would put them at war vs the Dranglex Empire due the shift in power.
little typo: “he aLmost activated the starcaster”
like the background in this page, sandy and purple sky is purty

Idiots that probably killed themselves.

We have a specific Patreon for Starcaster. There is only one tier. patreon.com/starcaster
That last panel describes just about every sci-fi rpg campaign I’ve ever been in. lol
