I always wondered: are these comics from the website the full story? Or are there more pages that you have to buy and the website only shows the few really-really story-relevant pages? Because, there are so many names, places, etc. I never heard and the story feels so big.
You see every panel in full on here, there is nothing omitted. This is the 4th issue (I believe) and it can be easy to get lost from the different characters and settings if you don’t re-read the others when a new issue comes out. I have the Patreon and find myself reading 6+ months of prior updates each time to remember everything.
This is the 9th issue, they all have the issue number on the cover page.

He has really good intuition (hopefully it is the correct outpost). He can eaisly assume they are in hiding, that Cort is the one wearing since the other 2 prob cant, and that Spiek would likely be sent for supplies in the likely event needed.
Does he even know about Nyra? If so he can know Cort will be training and for the other bearers to look for changes in the stars but they are no doubt already doing that to find the Dranglaex.
He should know about Nyra, he’s who showed up to investigate when the fed officer tried to sell her to Grin. And it is mentioned that the officer forgot to delete the back up files, so she’d be on them.

i think the question nobody has been asking yet is, is he able to grow facial hair?
Maybe that is facial “hair” we are seeing?
But that would mean this species would look different unless is a trend they follow in personal grooming.
What about eating?
Does it roughly resemble how zoidberg is eating food?
I don’t think that Quel’s smaller facial tentacles have grown or changed. And I don’t think there’s any evidence to suggest that his species severs their tentacles to let them grow back, the same way that humans cut and sculpt the long, non-shedding fur that we grow on our faces and scalps. Can’t think of any evolutionary advantage to that.
You know, I was originally thinking about my lab, who I will brush and brush and brush, and then vacuum the entire house, and then not three days later we’ll still get dog fur tumbleweeds.
But I had successfully blocked the memories of our own shower drain after my wife decided she liked shorter hair.
The tendrils probably serve a sensory function. In deep water, while navigating coral reefs, they are probably used to feel the surfaces of the rocks to find paths of progress where eyes cannot see.
Kind of like how mouse whiskers tell a mouse if a path is wide enough for their body to fit through.

Not many choices this chapter, but I like that we see immediate result

Ya I remembered about that a bit later.

“non-shedding”.
You haven’t met my wife and seen my shower drain.

I take it all back.
Lab fur = Miracle fibers of Love
Unlike zoidberg you can clearly see Quel’s mouth, idk how much the tentacles get in the way but I imagine eating is normal.

Is “Face Melted Off” that suspicipous?
Well, when you are looking for a mimion…
I’m curious about the implied religion (or at least myths) that Quel speaks of, and who Goriv is.
I read that as “Gorn”, trekkie flashbacks I guess
