This is why those little arms should’ve had little guns too.

Schlock Mercenary had a good strip about this! Andy has four arms and tries to show off while being recruited, but the recruiter points out that quad-wielding isn’t beneficial with space-weapons and normal eyesight that can focus on one target at a time.
The strip is April 12, 2002

Nice. It woulda been disappointing if a cheap thug got the better of him. Nice shots too, non lethal so he has plenty of time to convince him to talk.

-Hmm, I’ve always wondered if your species has proper pain receptors around the kneecaps…
*gunshot*
-AAAAUGH!
-Sorry, was that a “yes”?

Unless he hit the alien version of the Femoral Artery…in which case the thug has 5 minutes to live.

I don’t understand the motivation of the “security guard” here. Why would he risk his life to attack Quel when he stands to make some money for whatever information he can provide, truth or otherwise? If he just wants to mug him, it seems like a risk hardly worth taking.

If you find a pile of bodies and someone takes an interest maybe either the killer or other hunters will get offended and look for revenge against him. Or someone else has been through asking the same thing and offered a bounty on anyone else that comes looking?

His goal here isn’t money, it’s preventing the truth of the incident from leaking out.

chances are someone has payed him to make sure anyone who asks questions about that incident ask no further questions. Thug guard in a seedy place? ya he’s on the payroll of at least a dozen parties.

The dude’s probably connected to the time acid-man was threatened, where he offed a thug and got the rest to cover him with a threat of being found and melted.
It seems the acid-skin species has a fairly fearmongering-like reputation, so anyone who knows the survivors of the incident from the last chapter would be inclined to help them to avoid one of the most painful ways to die imaginable, except for maybe that parasite thing from the early chapters.

But then, couldn’t he have just stuck to the lie of “refueling accident”? He’s security, not a coroner. He isn’t exactly an SME on cause death.

I didn’t know he had it in him, I’m so proud. I thought he was just another suit.

I had high expectations, and I’m happy not to be disappointed.

If he used those baby arms, they would’ve been unblockable!
