I think it’s clear they use the same genetic base, what with the talk about the starcaster looking for genetic markers to bond with someone. It also is a clever conceit by Tim for worldbuilding. Everyone isn’t an independently evolved alien, they are all created by the Aug so they share dna and similarities: humanoid, breathes oxygen, certain gravity expected, etc etc. otherwise you can’t have such cosmopolitan mixing grounds with everyone hanging out together. As for if any of them can breed with each other…that seems out of scope for the comic in tone but a scientific prediction would… Read more »
Just to clarify, not EVERY species is aug-descendant. There are plenty of independently evolved races out there. But the Augish races do share a lot of traits with their progenitors as you mentioned, which accounts for their similarities.

I’m wondering if the different colours we see indicate different capabilities in the Starcasters. Wasn’t the one we recently saw a couple of issues ago red or something?

Reminds me of a favorite quote of mine: “Nearly all men can stand adversity, but if you want to test a man’s character, give him power,” Here, were are seeing Cort’s true character. Personally, I bet the starcaster is capable of creating and destroying because in the end depending on how it works it’s very likely the starcaster itself is technically doing neither. How can one tool both create and destroy? Well, we know it draws power from a star, but nothing else. Most likely it draws power from a star to convert into plasma. Plasma is a form of… Read more »

Note to everyone: Patrons are currently presented with a CHOICE so big that anything that tries to describe it would be a dick move of Spoilers. If there is ANYONE who wants to influence the choices in the series, THIS is the time to back the project. THE CHOICE is not yet live, and you have time to join Patrons in this momentous decision.

Clearly an aug-mented reality surronding these things then.
If they can do so much with a wrist mounted device, imagine what they could do the a Halo sized device?
Wipe out all higher intelligence lifeforms from the local galaxy?
That is the purpose of the installation
Hopefully none of their creation are as out of control as the flood. The Dranglexx are pretty rough, but they arent mindless.
Time to play.
Also, do the Aug used the same genetic base for all the species of the Galaxy? Are they, at some point, genetically compatible?
Just thinking
ok, Kirk.
