Vectanix has the starcaster and we know those things heal their owner. I get the feeling beheading a guy with the power of a star running through his system is probably exactly as bad an idea as it sounds. Best case he heals up and vaporizes you. Worst case… well supernovas are a thing that can happen when stars die.
If he’s just going to grow a new head, it’ll have the mind of a fetus controlling the adult body. The star-caster might puppeteer the body to place the head back on before the head dies, which would be premium opportunity for a one-liner.
Not just centuries. If they’ve already conquered at least one other galaxy, as Nyrah claims, then we’re talking millions of years. Even at a rate of one star system a day.
Well they only really need ton conquer a star system that has a real population. they could leave the rest to rot if they dont plan to habitate anything nearby
I would put the number of habitable star systems at very low ratio to all star systems, something like 1/1,000,000 or worse. You gotta have a planet and then that planet needs to be all perfect like.
Not to mention the core of most galaxies (and dense arms) have way too many stars too close/being created which results in massive amounts of radiation, which is lethal to commonly understood biological life.
This would reduce the amount of systems you would need to control to “conquer” a galaxy within something human conceivable not impossible.

Something’s off with building of that Vectanix character…
First he’s smart, calm and collected, tries to ‘settle down’ his brother and then makes a dumb move of mocking him, completely counterproductive to his prior words. Doesn’t look genuine.
Oh, he’s definitely (also) mocking/insulting his brother there.
What else is he’s supposed to do? He’s tried using calm, logic and civility to defuse things, but his brother insists on being an angry violent idiot anyway. Might as well try and see if shame can correct him a bit.
And at same time, give him a quick reminder who’s actually in charge.
Kelias is bound to be frustrated. After all, he’s waited a century. For a century they have languished past neutral space at the edge of the Federation border, while Vectanix counselled caution. “It’s only a matter of time before we break her”, he said. And now the Darkstar Syndicate has allowed Nyrah to recover the Starcaster. Kelias believes that, were it not for Vectanix’ hubris, he would have half of the Federation in ashes by now!
No; Kelias remains bloodthirsty and short-sighted while Vectanix is calm and dedicated to long-term genocide.

It would be interesting if choices impacting other characters or factions besides the primary cast were in the cards. For instance, could a choice of betrayal here be held to vote in the chose your path style adventure?
Looks like we might get a Romulus to this Remus…
Anyone else getting Mufasa and Scar vibes off of these two?
Mufasa implies that one of them is a noble and honorable icon of goodness…
Maybe in their way of being, one of them is.
More like, Cain and Abel.
somehow, I feel like vectanix is going to get beheaded by his bro soon
He’ll try, for sure. But I have the impression Vec expects that.

Don’t get a-head of yourself!
It would certainly be a headlining performance.
There can be only one!
what happens if you cut off his arm?
He gets to live to see the star-caster abused, if his brother so wishes.
Impressive – the guy doesn’t even need a Starcaster to deliver the burn
The Dranglaex has been in this crusade for centuries, what are a few more months?
And seems like clearly, your ships are not so worthy

Probably in that moment he is more lecturing that mocking, something like “learn to control that temper”
Maybe, but the boldened parts make me believe otherwise.

I dunno, looks to me like pretty standard behaviour with siblings.
Just cause someone is smart and calm doesn’t mean their personality is “never make mistakes.”
Vectanix’s mistake is believing his brother wouldn’t stab him in the back over this mockery.
Hmm, one’s Caligula, and one’s Nero>
And the Starcaster is the fiddle? ?
Nope, cuz Vectanix is Caligula
Internal power struggle. Excellent…
*Aberrations
that dragalex building looks very much like sentients ships from warframe
Clearly they aren’t worth a thousand of the fed ships if they lost two of them with while having a starcaster on their side to boot.
This might be a literal financial distinction rather than combat contribution, which would speak volumes of negativity on the Dranglaex economy.
Oof. Right in the inheritance.
Their personalities switched middle conversation??
