Though the last panel does seem like a good argument….

“What are they gonna do?” Has he forgotten the Feds have two people with starcasters that have actually spent time with it and have presumably mastered it?

Not sure that would be their best move… Odds are it ends with them having one fewer instead of one more.

Not necessarily mastered, but at least one of them has centivales of experience.

Seems like Cort thinks like me about putting them in jail…
But is also true that even with the healing factor of the starcaster, he can be keep unconscious (punching him quite hard), so drugging him is a possibility to keep him under custody until cutting his arm

I feel like it is kind of obvious what will happen. Either he agrees to help them fight the evil empire they are at war with, in which case they will be cool and give him almost anything he could ask for, or he don’t agree to fight in the war and they are going to kill him and steal the starcaster.

There’s also the complication that whoever takes the Starcaster would require weeks of attunement and training just to have a very basic level of control. Plus the fact that whoever TRIES to take the Starcaster is at risk of getting shot by the Starcaster. Plus the fact that killing Cort for his Starcaster when he’s come to them peacefully would be horrendous for morale if the other two bearers learned about it. The smart play would be to compromise. Cort doesn’t want to take an active part in the war, and needs to spend more time training to be of… Read more »
