Balance, maybe. But damn that was deep. If this is balance, I wonder how often Ethan legitimately contemplates philosophy in this head and just doesn’t say anything out loud.

Tim, gotta appreciate the small detail of them eating pizza while on patrol in their costumes. You don’t seem to see that to often in comics. it just seems more realistic.
I wonder how it works. Did they just meet the delivery guy wearing their costumes? Or did they say to them “bring the pizza in this alley. You’ll find the money next to the trash bin there”?
Tons of heroes in this city, so many most people don’t even know who their hero personas are. They probably just had the guy delive to a street corner and paid him in their costumes. That said my head cannon has Lucas lowering an arrow from the rooftop with a couple twenties on it. and then bringing the pizza back up the same way.
Why can’t they just call the pizza place to place an order and then go to it to pick it up?

You know, I’m very much on the Ethan band wagon here. I want Zeke to be fixed and join the team so bad, and here’s Lucas talking all logic at me that it might not happen.
I too hope for Zeke to join the team. (I’m still a bit upset that it wasn’t Ethan who created Zeke -.- Still like the new Story though)

And you didn’t even need Anakin to- I mean Rey to bring balance to the force!

Stuff like this makes me sometimes wonder how much of Ethan’s craziness is an act. Like, if he sometimes acts silly and incompetent as a defense mechanism for how much he’s changed since getting his powers. He’s just said his respawn ability’s affected his understanding of death. Maybe he tries to act like he used to in order to hide how much he’s really changed.
Or he’s just a teeter-totter of sensible and crazy. I’m good either way.
Nah, his craziness is not an act. Just like a broken clock, it’ll always be right at least twice a day, and so Ethan will seem somewhat sane every now and then.
That’s probably true. But it’s just pretty suspicious how it seems every time Lucas is about to compliment Ethan on saying something reasonable he adds something crazy to get him to retract it.

What if XB’s OWN personality is a human-hating dick?
Think of the readers. I dont think I can vomit enough to endure XB’s overzealous, misguided bullshit…….

So what happens when Ethan gets really old and dies from old age? Will he instantly respwan just to die again? Will he get caught in a loop of tortuous eternal death that he can never escape from?
Great real question. We’re seeing Ethan right now at most people’s “peak” – the 20somethingish age where the body really hasn’t slowed down yet. And his respawns are relatively close together – no more than a few weeks or a month between one and another. I wonder if his body and ability recognize aging as what it is medically – a body deterioration process – and when it brings him back to full health, brings him up to *full* health? So, if he lived for forty years and then respawned, if it would bring him to the body of a… Read more »
The way it’s been explained, his respawn system works on checkpoints- he respawns at his last full health checkpoint. Presumably that checkpoint is periodically getting updated, so his checkpoint is constantly getting older. (He probably de-ages a few minutes or hours every time he reverts to checkpoint, but that’s probably not going to add up to more than a year of extra lifespan.) The real question is how his superpowers view old age with respect to health. If his body starts deteriorating due to age, would his body consider that to be “no longer at full health” and refuse to… Read more »
Sometimes I wonder if some of the similarities between CAD 1.0 and 2.0 are simply nothing more than the same artist deciding to take the same characters and tell a new story in a different way, or if in the artist’s mind they exist on a larger metaverse-style scale. It always brings me back to Ethan’s slightly telling mini-crush with Reporter Lilah, before he listened to Lucas’ advice. And now his mini-obsession with not-Zeke. It makes sense in-universe, and if CAD 1.0 didn’t exist I wouldn’t question it. But -knowing- that these characters have a past history in a past… Read more »

I am intrigued with seeing Ethan, Lucas, and Ezekiel having an on and off antagonistic relationship. But truthfully I want Zeke to find his own way and not repeat the original CAD story by being their companion. And as great it is to see Lilah return in a different role…the original CAD story was done and I’m glad for a new story for all of the characters involved. I may be in the minority but I miss Emily. I actually felt there was more for her than her and Ethan’s brief relationship, despite their quirks. Maybe time will tell as… Read more »
But what if Bobby calls on Stelio Kontos to even the odds?
Aahhh the balance the precious balance
balance leaves all right…and many many innocents dead.
Like the younglings.

Uber eats, bro.
Slipped it through a sewer grate, ninja turtles style.
Wise man say: forgiveness is divine, but never pay full price for late pizza.
Or, they place the order, tell the driver to deliver to Scott’s apartment, and Scott just hands it to them through the window.

Because the thought of a manic cape is so reassuring

Ethan makes the perfect pairing then. Homicidal maniac and a best friend that can never stay dead. Match made in heaven

I’m wondering if his powers even work on natural death.
