I mean… I know I did, but that was before the reboot. I mean it’s a short story written years ago, people who just find the comic recently won’t really want to go find it I figure.
A quick blurb about what the games bowl is might help newer readers not be so confused.
So it is a big battlefield with various “game stations” that needs to be conquered by players to get points in which they play various games while outside those stations they can take out the competition with foam weapons? Sounds cool. With 12 players how many game stations are in the battlefield? And how big is said battle field? And some other questions I would have in regards to this, but this does sound like something many people would watch in our world as well.
They would have started out with 12, but according to the original written Game Games Bowl story at least one random station would shut down with each elimination, leaving fewer and fewer options and possibly forcing one or more players out into the open.
I do believe the original Game Games Bowl was held in an old warehouse.
From what I see here, it appears to be literally the same as it was in 1.0. You have the “get eliminated it you get hit” element and since they mentioned a gamestation, I would assume the “you need to be at a gamestation at game time or you’re out, also if you lose you’re out” element as well.

if only Ethan had said “yes, I practiced really hard because i was sure I was gonna be picked” Emily would have just believed him probably. “because you never know what might happen”

Well, I mean she has to find out at some point. Not because of any super hero trope, but imagine their relationship got serious. She wants to move in together, they want to get married etc… He can’t keep the truth from her forever.
At some point he’s gonna have to rip off that band aid.
I agree! With the right waivers, lawyers, safety precautions this could be an epic event. Also with E-Sports becoming so big it’s only a matter of time before this is a thing.
I’m kind of disappointed Daniel Tran wasn’t taken out by being taped to a wall. That would have been glorious.

Now that looks like a cool game. Though shouldn’t they wear helmets with visors given the foam arrows are packed full with paint? A shot straight to the face must hurt a lot plus there is the risk of paint getting in your eyes.
As any longtime CAD fan would know, anyone who gets a “near miss” and catches the arrow will be disqualified. Attempts to stay in the game will result in the deployment of the giant elephant.

I wonder how Ethan managed to keep a secret identity all this time, he’s not really good at improvising lies on the spot….or keeping quiet about things only he and Lucas should know either. Makes for good humor though. 🙂
