Over the past few months I’ve been working on a fun series of Console War Art Prints. We are now on the ninth generation of video game consoles, and I thought it would be fun to go through and imagine what each generation of the war would look like through the years. Sort of documenting the history of consoles, through the lens of my anthropomorphized game systems.
Wave one is now up for preorder, and features the first three prints (generations) in the series. I wanted to group them together because it helps save on shipping. The prints will be 17×11, big enough to enjoy the art, but not so big you couldn’t decorate your gaming room with a few of them (*nudge nudge*). The prints will be $10 a piece, or $25 for the set of three. All pre-ordered prints will be hand-signed by me.
Generation 1: Atari Pong vs Magnavox Odyssey vs Nintendo Color TV-Game 6
Generation 2: Atari 2600 vs ColecoVision vs Intellivision
Generation 3: Nintendo Entertainment System vs Sega Master System vs Atari 7800
Ordered. Can’t wait for the next series!
Ditto.
Awesome! Can’t wait for more:)
Do you have an option for digital prints?
You can get access to all three as desktop wallpapers at 4k resolution as a $10 Patron. So pledge for one month at that tier and you can download all three digital wallpapers.
ANOTHER $10 just for wallpaper?
Greedy, much?
How DARE an artist ask money for his work?? Especially after putting a major portion of his work (eg, this comic) on the website for free.
Done. Love the art.
Will this be added to the Kickstarter after the preorder campaing?
Ordered! LOVE This! Keep up the good work bud!
I got my pre-orders in. Is there a release date? We might be moving within the next few months, and I would hate to miss these.
Oh I’ll definitely have these out sooner than “a few months”. Preorders close at the end of the month, and I’ll move quickly after that. I will announce when they’re shipping, and if your address is iffy at that point, just reach out to me. Ill hold your poster until you’re settled.
Thank you very much.
Also, I heard you have a discord server. Do you have an invite link?
It’s a Patreon Discord server. The invite is automatic for all patrons at the $3 tier or above.
So will there be posters for Generations 4, 5, 6, and 7?
Yes. And 8 and 9, which is the current generation. 🙂
Will the first 3 be offered again at some point? Completely missed out on these!
Yup!
Hi Tim, any view on when you expect the next batch to be issued please? trying to sort some pocket money out to cover these when issued 😀
I dunno, I’m just being dumb. The next trio of posters have been done for months, and I’ve just not gotten around to putting them up for sale. I’ll try and do it in the next month.
Just got my order in today. LOVE them! Looking forward to more of the series!
Got mine today too, sadly there is a small wrinkle in the upper left corner of the paper due to packaging or rough transport, but nothing a good frame can’t solve.
Can’t wait for serie 2 and 3 to make a nice 3×3 mosaic 😀
Got mine! They were rolled very tightly and want to hold that shape. Hoping they relax a bit before I frame them. Looking forward to the next series. They need the title printed on them somewhere!
So 9 total, and when will the rest be out?
Just got them the other day! SO awesome! I hung them up and then realized the shipping department is fast becoming the CAD poster gallery
Can you make them available in a more “standard” photo size so I could use one of those family photo collage frames for the prints and fit all 9 in there one day? We have two OG posters over the couch atm. I imagine I COULD arrange everything nicely once we are in a bigger place, I just love the family photo set up idea.
It took me a while to buy a house so that I could do what I want with my walls. Then it took me a while to get the right feel and size picture frames. It’s finally complete! I can’t wait for the next batch. Any hint on when they arrive?
Sadly my photo will not load. =o(
I just came here to see if there was a new update on this!
Any word on the next set or was this project scrapped? I’m having a hard time convincing my family that there really is art for the blank frames I hung up….
where is the atari 7800?!?
