Could go either way

Here’s to hoping I don’t get in trouble for today’s comic.

For those of you who don’t quite get it, allow me to explain a moment. Some of you might have heard of a little web comic knows as PVP. And by some of you, I mean all of you, and by little, I mean freakin’ huge.

Anyway, Scott Kurtz has been commenting recently on some feedback he’s received complaining that PVP doesn’t focus on video games like it’s supposed to anymore. Scott feels that certain video game jokes get old, get beaten to death and they lose their appeal. He feels (from my understanding) that there just aren’t enough ways to joke about video games to carry a strip single handedly. Especially not a daily strip like PVP.

I’m inclined to agree with him. I mean come on people. There’s a lot to be said for some character development, for exploring different avenues. I’ve dabbled in it myself. I’ve done strips that were entirely unrelated to video games, despite being tagged as a “Gaming Comic”.

It has apparently gotten to the point for Scott that he felt the need to crack a joke about the situation himself. Over his last couple of strips he’s been directly commenting on the complaints in a way that I found intelligent and funny.

So in comes my meager cameo in today’s strip. My little way of paying homage to Scott Kurtz, and my way of saying “I agree with you, keep up the good work”.

I’ve emailed Scott, asking his permission to keep this strip up. It is entirely in his discretion. If he asks me to take the strip down, it will come down.

In other news, I’ve settled on an idea for the poster I’ll be having printed up, so I’ll be getting hard to work on that over the next couple of days. My plan is to have a set number of them printed up, and then that will be it. I’ll sell as many as I can at ConnectiCon, and then with the rest I’ll either sell here on the site, or give them away as prizes/donation thank you’s.
