So the only game I had truly planned on buying this month was Splinter Cell: Pandora Tomorrow. Then nostalgia started to kick in, and Twin Snakes began to look mighty delicious.
Now, if I were forced to choose between the two (and nobody is saying that I’m not, for reasons that are beyond explanation on the front page of a very public website), I would easily choose Splinter Cell, hands down. I mean, it’s new, the original rocked my socks, and hell… it’s got multiplayer. It’s not Rainbow Six multiplayer, but it’s still fucking Splinter Cell multi. You can bet you’ll see me around the servers when that one hits.
But don’t get me wrong. Twin Snakes looks great. And I’m flooded with all sorts of wonderful memories of playing the first. I don’t even know how many times I beat the original MGS… I lost count. I even did those goofy VR missions, just for the sake of playing the hell out of that game disc. I have no fonder memories of hiding under a box and sneaking around a heavily patrolled military base, than when I did so in MGS.
