Dorks and Dragons

This is a pretty cool tattoo, if I do say so myself. But I may be biased.

So I hear the Dungeon and Dragons 4th Edition is releasing next week. I’ve never played a single dice roll’s worth of DnD, but it’s always intrigued me.

Growing up I guess I was just never hanging around in the groups that contained people interested in DnD, but I remember at one point I bought some of the books just for the hell of it. I remember not having the slightest clue what any of those ridiculous stats were, but I still thought all the descriptions were pretty neat.

A few times I tried to get into the whole DnD roleplaying thing the best I could with both Neverwinter Nights 1 and 2 (not talking about single player stuff), but it never really stuck, and I know it wouldn’t have been like real DnD anyway.

Hopefully someday they’ll successfully translate the DnD experience to something that can be played online. In the meantime, the closest I get is my miniature wargaming, with Warmachine, which I absolutely love.

Still, reading bits here and there about the new DnD rules and how they’re evolving the franchise sounds pretty cool. Maybe someday…
