End of the weeeeeek

Entries for the first Phrasal Template Art Smash have now drawn to a close. I’ve selected one winner from each day’s submissions, along with their word, and will now draw a wallpaper of the scene depicted. I’ll release that, along with the names of the four winners this weekend (likely Saturday afternoon).

Additionally, the four winners will receive a free SUMO Omni courtesy of Sumo Lounge!

This is not a real thing, but I’m starting to wish it were. My wife and I have been watching True Blood for years now; it’s campy, often silly, often stupid, but it’s fun and entertaining anyway. I’ve never really liked the Sookie portrayed on the show (some people have told me that she’s better in the books, but I wouldn’t know), though I’ve never felt that more keenly than now with the current season. With Bill and Eric having dropped her and gone off to do their own shit with the Vampire Authority, a glimpse at how interesting the show could be sans-Sookie. Actually, it would be even better still if the entire show were about Eric and Pam.

My other big gripe about the show is their utter reluctance to kill any of their main characters (permanently, anyway). Some of the ridiculous things they get into on the show might be more interesting if there was even a shred of concern that anything bad might really happen.

I’ll be at ConnectiCon 2012 as a guest in July. I’ll probably be on a panel or two, and I’ll also be spending most of my time at a table in the board game room. I’ll try and have a sign or something so you can find me easily. If you want to sit down and get into a game of Battlestar Galactica, or Zombies!!! or whatever, come find me in the board game area.

If you’re attending ConnectiCon, and you had your eye on any merch from SplitReason, you can save yourself shipping by having using the promo code ‘connecticon’ during check-out. You won’t be charged shipping, and you can pick up your stuff from me in person. Just make sure you bring a print-out of your receipt and an ID when you come to pick up your order.
