A demo for Blazing Angels is now on Xbox Live. I downloaded it and gave it a spin, and I wasn’t all that impressed. Don’t get me wrong, the graphics and controls are superb. The subject matter was just a little… blah, for me. It might have just been the demo content. If anything was going to spark a fire in that game for me it would be the multiplayer. But without the element of player competition, the game seems like a fancy Crimson Skies… except without the fun. I’ll reserve more judgement until I’ve played more of the full game.

Still playing Oblivion and working on my review. The game is amazing, but it is not without flaws. The game has a lot of problems, and it seems like a lot of common sense “expected” stuff has been left out. But there is so much wonderful stuff about the game as well. It’s simply massive, so I’m taking my time with writing about it. I want to make sure I’m covering the game as well as possible. So I should be writing it this weekend, and then releasing it next week to mark the launch of Ctrl+Alt+Del’s new video game coverage/review website. That will be fun.

We’ve got some new t-shirts that have gone on presale today. I’m not sure which, if any, will become permanant editions to our store. If you see something you like, you may want to grab them soon, just in case we don’t stock it after the preorder phase.

Far Cry Instincts Predator is supposed to be released on Tuesday. I’ll be perfectly honest with you, I never enjoyed the first Far Cry. I really don’t know what the big deal was. I gave it a shot, and it just played like any old FPS to me. And how many of those do we have. Feel free to let me know if I’m just not catching what was supposed to make Far Cry so great, but the screens on the 360 don’t look all that fantastic.

However next week won’t be a total loss. We’re supposed to be finally getting the King’s Quest, Space Quest and Police Quest compilations. Hot shit.

And have you seen this bootlegged teaser of God of War 2 that someone recorded (against the rules) at the GDC? Wow. Kratos is all like “What? You need that wing for flying, bitch? Too bad”.

I’m going to schedule a short GameDay on Saturday. From 4pm to 6pm EST I’ll be playing the Savage demo. The demo is really limited, but we’re only playing for a short time. I’m hoping this will give some people a chance to try out Savage and get pumped up for Savage 2. So grab the demo and I’ll see you tomorrow afternoon.
