Hey, you there

Monday’s comic has arrived.

I went away for the weekend with my girlfriend to visit my family. We were having a really good time, so we decided to extend our mini-vacation by an extra day. It was unplanned but much enjoyed. Since I didn’t know I was going to be staying an extra day, Monday’s comic wasn’t done in advance. I decided to just do it when I got home this afternoon. No big deal.

Unfortunately some of you need to learn to differentiate between “late” and “later than usual”. I update my comic Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday. That’s been my schedule for quite sometime now. Notice how there’s no specific time there. The comic goes up as soon as it is finished. Ninety percent of the time, that is around midnight. Occasionally the comic goes up later than that, depending on circumstances.

I got some pretty nasty emails today because the comic wasn’t up when “you wanted it up”. Well tough shit. The comic isn’t late until the clock strikes midnight to a new day. Sometimes things come up. Sometimes it’s a work overload, sometimes it’s just me trying to have a life, and the comic goes up late. Whatever it may be, I’m never just sitting here twiddling my thumbs thinking “hmm, maybe I’ll wait just a bit longer to post the comic… to make them suffer”. Get a grip people.

If the comic is late, there’s a reason for it. For all you know the collar on a new t-shirt I just bought was defective and exploded while I was wearing it, thus decapitating me and rendering me unable to produce artwork for you. If that was the case you’d feel pretty damned stupid emailing to complain about a late comic, wouldn’t you?
