Alright, so, before Christmas I talked about how I was investigating methods to achieve some cheaper shipping rates on the massively heavy Ctrl+Alt+Del 1.0 book set for readers across the pond. The book set is a whopping 17 pounds (10 years worth of comics is no joke), and to get a copy from the US to the UK by itself costs a shipping rate of $135.00. I agree, that is a little ridiculous, but I don’t get to set the prices.
So here’s my plan: I can ship a pallet of books (126 book sets) freight over to Germany. They get put on a boat/plane together, and distributed to the UK/EU from within Germany. Making the trip overseas as a group lowers the per-book-cost substantially.
To readers in Germany, the total shipping cost (freight + +customs + shipping from our depot to your destination) would be $55. Total price of book set plus shipping, $135.
To readers in the UK and rest of the EU, the total shipping cost (freight + +customs + shipping from our depot to your destination) would be $65. Total price of book set plus shipping, $145
These are the best shipping prices I’ve been able to offer international readers since the original Kickstarter ended, and this will be the last time I offer these prices. After this, I will not be sending any more pallets overseas, nor could I really… we only have a few hundred copies of this book set left as is.
So here’s the deal: before I do anything, I need to know I have at least close to a pallet’s worth of interest in these books in the EU. If you live in the EU, and still want a copy of the book set, the first step is to let me know. Send me an email at tim (at) cad-comic.com. I will add your name and email address to an interest list.
If it looks like we have enough people, we’ll move on to the next step which would be committing to a book set via payment. This will get the books on their way to Europe. Once the books are at the depot, you’ll be asked to pay the balance and the books will ship out to your address.
