The Winter-een-mas season is officially in full effect. Feel free to start wishing people a happy Winter-een-mas, and planning your Winter-een-mas festivities for the end of the month.
My single goal for today is to finish putting together the Winter-een-mas website, which should, fingers crossed, be up this week sometime. It will include all existing information about the holiday, as well new information for this year. It will be your one-stop reference point for all that is Winter-een-mas. In the meantime you can look here and here for all of the info from WEMas 2004.
I have heard from a few business that are holding Winter-een-mas LANS, tournaments and festivities. The new webpage will have a list of these events, so that people can find stuff happening in their area.
The WEMas website is also where I will be collecting the photos that everyone sends in for Winter-een-mas, so be sure to snap photos this season and send em on in!
Also, because this is one of the biggest questions, I’ll answer it here. It is Winter-een-mas wherever you are. You do not celebrate “Summer-een-mas”, or wait until your winter to celebrate. The name is a throwback to Ethan’s crazy original idea, but the holiday itself is a celebration of gamers. It shouldn’t be too hard for you guys to get past. It’s not like most of you think of the son of god on Christmas.
I’ll be sure to let you guys know the very instant that the website goes live.
