Well here we are. 2006. It doesn’t feel any different than 2005, does it? It never does.
2005 was such a hallmark year for Ctrl+Alt+Del. Thanks to you guys, CAD continues to grow by leaps and bounds, allowing me to branch out in areas I never thought possible.
2006 will be even better. We’ve got the Animated Series coming out next month, alongside a bunch of exclusive stuff I’ve been working on. While the animated shorts will be available exclusively online, we’re not stopping there. To quote Randy Waxman,
president and CEO of Blind Ferret Entertainment, “Television is our
ultimate destination. We know what appeal Ctrl+Alt+Del has to the key
demographic Network Executives seek. These episodes will be our pitch, as a
pilot, to those networks.”
Digital Overload will mark the first in what we hope will be an ongoing series of Ctrl+Alt+Del LAN parties. So far response has been great, and we’re really excited about how it’s turning out.
As promised, even though the CAD Premium service doesn’t start until February, I’ve been working on getting a bunch of stuff ready to put up there in January. It should be up there this week, a bunch of wallpapers, and some concept and promotional artwork concerning a project I’ve been working on for some time, and hope to bring to light in 2006.
The Winter-een-mas season is now in full swing, and you can join up with other gamers celebrating the holiday on the official website. This is the fourth year of Winter-een-mas, the third which it has actually been celebrated as a defined holiday. Each year it grows larger and larger, as more people embrace the spirit of the holiday. It makes me happy to see so many people celebrating what video games bring into our lives.
The presale for the 2006 Winter-een-mas shirts ends tomorrow at noon. When the presale ends, this design will never be available again.
As I’ve mentioned previously, I won’t be doing any conventions in 2006 aside from Vericon. Vericon is being held in Cambridge, MA at the end of this month, right in the middle of the Winter-een-mas holiday. I won’t be bringing any merchandise to sell, so if you want something signed, you’ll need to bring it with you. But I will be doing some panels and hanging out. Vericon is also hosting Winter-een-mas festivities in the form of LAN and console gaming.
And obviously I’ll be at Digital Overload 2006.
