So I forgot that the new Indiana Jones movie was filming this weekend a couple of streets away from my house here in New Haven. Harrison Ford got into town Wednesday they say, and Spielberg arrived yesterday. And having forgotten this, I decided to go to the bank this afternoon, which lies on the very same streets around Yale that, for the past few weeks, the film crew has been dressing up to look like 1957. Ugh, what a mess.

Police everywhere, like six detours (and it’s all one-way streets around Yale), traffic up the buttocks. No way in hell am I going out tomorrow.

They held an open casting call for extras a couple of weeks ago, and I nearly went, but I couldn’t be bothered to take a “headshot”. In retrospect, I’m glad I didn’t try to go down there, as I heard some sixty-thousand people turned out.
