WHY is the placeholder message “Be the First to Comment!” – don’t they KNOW what’s gonna happen?

So what you’re really trying to tell us, in a sneaky roundabout way, is that you were FIRST?

I may have mentioned it in passing, but it’s not something I’m proud of

I wonder if that is her own name or someone elses…

Is it not the name of the Technician she was trying to flirt with when this all started?

Her wingman was nickamed Cass so I think it’s matching : https://cad-comic.com/comic/the-starcaster-chronicles-08-21/
First name of the technician was Cela. Maybe a typo somewhere : https://cad-comic.com/comic/the-starcaster-chronicles-08-01/

I’m not 100 sure but 1 would be the mechanic she was crushing on and the other most likely her wingwoman

I think (But could be wrong) that AVR would be Aviator and TFC Technician First Class.

I’m thinking it’s “Avisar”, the rank the mechanic called her in the hangar. It’s probably some kind of “airman” equivalent in this universe

I was curious about that so I googled “avisar” and it’s spanish for “to warn”. So I thought it might indeed be a good title for those who scout or patrol

I think this character’s first name is Janora : https://cad-comic.com/comic/the-starcaster-chronicles-08-22/

This pilots name is Janora. Cass(idea) was indeed her wingman.
But as far as I know the name of the techician she has a crush on is Cela, so it is probably a typo.

Cassidea or “Cass” was apparently her wingwoman. I’m not sure about the technician as they call her “Cela” in the previous issues, not Cera

You all need to lay off the skooma. The name is obviously Cela. And that shimmer we all felt certainly wasn’t the result of reality being warped and adjusted by a higher power… 😀

+1 for “lay of the skooma” I should really start using that more.

Last panel: I like to think that TFC here means “Too Friggin’ Cute”

Unrelated thought. If the Starcaster can actually affect stars strongly enough to destroy them, when it draws power from them… Will we see a supernova, black hole or something happening?

I doubt the technology they have would help them withstand something of THAT magnitude, since a Starcaster itself is so far ahead of their capabilities.

And supernovas basically wipe out everything within a radius of several light years, for one thing. BUT it’d take a supernova’s shockwave at least a few years, to reach the next solar system. It may be unstoppable, but you would be able to outrun it.

Even if they can (where do you get it from?), I don’t think the Dranglaex want to destroy whole solar systems, they also need to live somewhere, and would probably prefer to take them over after killing off the current inhabitants.

While the guy in a previous strip talks about boiling the seas on some planet (which would probably cause irreversible damage to its climate and ecosphere), he’s just one guy, and more hotheaded than the one wielding the Starcaster (meaning, he might not be representative of their overall goals).

“where do you get it from?” I’m not gonna check the entire early comics to find the exact strip. But I’m pretty sure Nyrah said the Starcaster draws power in such a manner, that it can age stars to the point that they end their cycle (which can cause such catastrophic results). If it’s used often enough while feeding from the same star, or if the star is already old. In fact, she said the reason her people didn’t use their own Starcaster to defend from the Dranglaex back then… Was because their star was old and they didn’t wanna… Read more »

^Good points above. I’m assuming that the Starcaster draws on whatever star is in the vicinity; likely, the star for which the Starcaster is currently in gravitational influence of. But, outside of a solar system? I don’t know if we’ve ever seen a Starcaster used in deep space, but if it WAS possible, I’d assume that either the output would be miniscule, or the strain on the user would be lethal. After all, we’ve learned that there IS a physical strain on the user if they use it in excess, but the user is able to adapt for minor uses,… Read more »

Yeah, of course the usage of a Starcaster in such a manner that the star goes supernova… Implies the user dies, one way or another. I agree with everything you say, I think. Just remember, I didn’t say someone would attempt that. I’m assuming it’d be more like an accident. After all, it’s clear that no one is properly and fully trained in the Starcasters’ use. None of the current owners even saw an Aug, much less got one to mentor them. While certain situations may stop the user from causing a supernova, such as the strain killing them before… Read more »

Am I the only one who feels no tie to this character? I barely feel like we know her. It’s more like “she looks familiar…oh yeah wasn’t she a pilot of one of the spaceships?“ So I really don’t have a big emotional connection to this scene.
