I am a little underwhelmed by Destiny 2’s new social hub. We’re going from a shining tower on the cutting edge of civilization to a shabby village with chickens running around.
I understand that the good guys are meant to be set back on their heels in the game, following a devastating attack, but they didn’t have anywhere cooler to hang out? An underground fallout bunker at the core of the moon, or an space station tucked away on an asteroid?

Im a bit worried about how the beta is only giving one strike, one mission, a bit of PvP and 3 hours (THREE HOURS) in the social area.
The beta for D1 gave us the entire first planet, a few of the Pvp maps and free run of the social space… and yet that game didnt have much content.
yeah and people played it and felt they played the whole game and either never came back on release or complained to have already seen 25% all of vanilla destiny.
I mean, they’re giving you 20% of the strikes and 100% of the social zone, there isn’t going to be that much in destiny 2, think they said 6 strikes 1 raid and a handful of pvp maps, knowing them half the pvp maps will be remakes of the previous ones
Feels like a typical WoW expansion. Which by my standards is super poor basis to release a completely new game. Then again they managed to sell first one, what, 3-4 times in a row? I dont have that kind of money.

So clearly the farm plan has a (roughly) 18-year time limit on its usefulness. Plenty long enough to draw out the story for Destiny 2 XD

Animal Farm continues to be relevant. You would not believe how many people I hear that quote it near word-for-word as an ideal without intending it.
Sorry. The reference brought it to mind. It was and remains one of my favorite books and a book that I think is so vital, so I love the reference.

I figure the farm will eventually become a large staging area to retake the City. Also, you can’t gather refugees from the City in the core of the (possibly still) Hive infested moon. Or in orbit in a space station…
I mean… we kinda have this bad ass winter temple with dire wolves walking around… but chickens are cool too. I guess. Fresh eggs?

Fresh eggs is good for 1/3 maybe 2/3 of the races. Not sure if the awakened eat eggs.

Why did they make Destiny 2? Was the disappointment of 1st one not enough? Sure, it gave some memes and recognizable guns, but could they not just let it die?
They are now selling it literally on ALL PLATFORMS, even on all PC platforms from what i’ve heard. Too much money to pass up.
The game is popular enough to warrant the sequel, believe it or not.

Where did the names of the main characters (Ethan, Lucas, Lilah and Zeke, and maybe Scott and Ted) come from?

Haha! it makes me think of this Karate game I bought recently where you have to pay to enter tournaments- to get money you have to go work at the docks driving a forklift and loading boxes onto a truck. then I can earn money to fight at the one tournament place- once I get enough ‘fame points’ (I guess by fighting at the pay tournament?) I can go to some of the other tournaments.
When will there be another Gamer’s Glossary? Sorry for asking.
