The question now is whether Lila recognizes Deathbloods involvement, or starts to believe that Ethan is turning to violence himself, starting from what happend with The Troll. It was her who brought up that Deathblood comparison in the first place, so that thought probably is not completely far fetched for her.

Also, in any case she is hiding the evidence pointing to Ethan from the police…

Those people were shredded by machine guns, Ethan left behind a throwing knife. I’m also guessing Deathblood is the kinda guy to leave behind a calling card… as he isn’t the type to leave behind survivors.

Him blowing up the door is probably his calling card.

Excuse you.

That is a Controllerang(TM).

Given this comic, the proper symbol for Trademark here ought to be (TiM)

I’m also sure that if they analyze the bullets they’d match them to other casing/bullets Deathblood has left behind.

If the controller is found by the police, at minimum accessory to murder? Maybe hiding the controller will give her a chance to talk with Ethan or create a situation for blackmail or something.

Deathblood looks like the kind of ‘hero’ that would stylize every bullet casing with a skull, just because.

Na, pair of scales considering he’s assigned himself judge, jury and executioner

It may be possible that the police also don’t care. A group of drug peddling violent criminals got taken out. Depending on the vigilante laws of this fictional universe, what Deathblood is doing might not be illegal and even if it is illegal he might still have tacit approval by the police.

I mean Batman had tacit approval too, until he didn’t… and then did again… you know they never can seem to decide that lol

This is true, but that doesn’t mean that she won’t think Ethan had a gun and DIDN’T leave it behind. Still… the plot thickens…

Probably looks for him and asks why he didn’t stop or face Deathblood, as he is acting like a criminal and Monologue wants to stop the violence

I did not remember that Deathblood had ever been mentioned before. That’s impressive.

She’s a reporter, her probable first thought is: “Analog was here, I should question him what happened.”

Maybe she gets an inkling he killed a bunch of people but I’m going to bet her reporter instincts are first and foremost.

The fact that she took evidence from a crime scene and concealed it – committing a crime herself – indicates that she doesn’t believe that Analog is guilty and should be investigated by the police.

Though I wouldn’t be surprised if she uses it to compel him to talk.

I doubt ‘hiding Analog from the police’ is much of an active motive here. Lilah doesn’t even know what happened yet, so there’s no real reason for her to take such drastic action.

This seems more like simply taking evidence for her personal investigations. (And as mentioned, possibly confront Analog with it and get him to explain how it got there).

I think it’s more that she simply wants as much story as she can and she just found a calling card to a scoop no one else will get.

Lilah approaches and smiles her way into the scene. Some people are easily bribed or charmed.

Act like you belong. Don’t act nervous, no excessive eye contact or “checking” around. Eyes front, walk with purpose, even a slight head nod to someone standing watch. It’s amazing how well that works. When we used to do physical security testing we had this one mousy littla fella that you wouldn’t think could break into anything (and physically he couldn’t). His favorite were work sites. Put on a khaki pants and a short-sleeve button down shirt, carry a clipboard and wear a white hard hat… People would go out of their way to not be close enough to him… Read more »

Did exactly this to get into pubs when I was 15. It helped that I’m tall but to sell it, the attitude of “I have a perfect right to be here” is everything.

If you are in a universe with super heroes with all sorts of weird powers and legalized vigilantism, I imagine the quality of policing goes to shit. Even more so than our current reality.

Plot twist! Lila can transform into DeathBlood and she came back to hide the evidence.

not much of a crime scene securing. only one thing of police tape, no guards watching the perimeter to keep people who arent allowed in from walking in. they should at least have brought in sawhorses and done more tape, or blocked off the edges with police vehicles. i mean geez at least make an attempt.

How many of these things do you think the police force handles? I understand the theory of making something 100% secure is their job but most normal people don’t want to break into a crime scene and there is very little for people to gain in doing so. If this was like…a plot relevant thing where the macguffin fell from orbit and they had to secure it against a big bad, I could understand your point. But this is a bunch of dead guys, the drugs are secured, the police have more piles of bodies every day, I can see… Read more »

fair point. i live in a small town and have never actually seen a crime scene being secured outside of tv shows and movies and major news broadcasts. i figured that in real life they do similar effort on trying to secure a scene. your reply is logical and makes sense. my apologies for my idiocy and lack of world experience

I see two Officers at the perimeter on the right and two on the left by the Ambulance, all watching the door which is what actually matters. Three officers are at the exploded door and two officers at the opened door. And our reporter was stopped within minutes.
Oh and the only access we’ve seen to this garage door area is currently being blocked by the Ambulance.
So tell me how would YOU sneak inside and not get caught immediately?

we havent seen the other side of the building, and its a 2 story building. either way, the best way would be go in on the opposite side. the smaller door a building like that would normally have as a fire exit. or if you can get to it, the exterior fire escape and come down from the upper floor. assuming of course they dont have the whole building sealed off.

Way to leave your damn fingerprints on that thing and contaminate it, stupid.

Yes she’s contaminating it, which is bad. But she herself wouldn’t have found anything on it. This was actually a plot point of how the master found Ethan and Lucas earlier in the strip. Ethan had his glove ripped, so when he threw the controllerang he left a finger print. ZK disappeared with it immediately. The moment Ethan was on a police station and had his prints taken for something else his print was in the system. The master was checking periodically for a match and thus found the house. In this case there shouldn’t be any useful information on… Read more »

She put it in her purse to take with her, leaving prints doesn’t matter if you take it and they don’t notice. And it didn’t look like they had it marked as evidence so it was an irrelevant item in the investigation.

There’s also the blunt controllerang he hit Tommy in the face with.

Although, it’s possible he gathered up his gear after the fight, and just missed this controllerang.

I’m noting a lack of outlines, so maybe the thugs didn’t go splat?? Or was there not enough left of them to make an id?

Chalk outlines are a movie thing and not necessarily done by cops in real life.

But you’d think that by the time the bodies were removed, they’d have found the boomerang

Or the bodies are simply deeper inside the warehouse

It’s possible that the controllerang might’ve been noticed, but then ignored by someone thinking it was just a random video game controller.

How’d Lila get beyond the police line? If anything, she’s lucky to not get arrested. That and hiding evidence is bad as well.

I have been looking forward to them getting together since this arc started. Bonding over emotional trauma! I’m guessing they work together to expose vigilantes who go too far.

My big thing is it’s about time we see her again.
Most of us are following because of the twisted, odd, and oh so endearing relationship Ethan and Lilah had.
