OK this was “last edited” almost right when I viewed the comic. I don’t like that fact. I want to believe it’s coincidence, but does my PC have some sort of browser trojan that is specifically targeting CAD’s comment section. Not to mention I think the bot started happening when I decided to comment for maybe the first time? What have I done… what am I being haunted by …
Is there a way for anyone on the admin side of things to verify like, if the posts are being generated from the same IP? Is there a ghost in my machine?
I also want to point out that it does not seem I am able to edit any of *my* posts; maybe somehow my legit posting has been flagged and disabled (hence my 2FA no longer working and locking me out of my registered account) in an effort to combat the bot?
Is this some sort of insane AR situation and ZK has taken over my account, gone full anti-humanity, and has resorted to this?
Am I the only one that looked at his ‘smile’ and had a ‘creepy hollow’ / ‘evil pumpkin head’ moment? For some reason, the expression reminded me of the graphics in some sort of animated Sleepy Hollow I saw many years ago. It would be reasonable and just if he smoked the Master. Prudent as well. But it makes ZK kind of like the Master and that’s sad if it goes that way. I think robot 1 is one of the sentries, and ZK can control or reason with it. The last panels, Master turns the opposite way and there is no light where ZK is.

Well… least it wasn’t a stray waterballoon this time.
I wonder if this is a time skip backward. I doub it would have taken so long. Probably already found the Master even before leaving the shop, watching.
Given how it says ‘meanwhile’ on top of the page, a time skip seems unlikely. 😉 But I don’t think the comic ever gave a detailed timeframe on how long it has been since the incident. We know it’s at least multiple days since we’ve seen Ethan go out several times, but (unless I missed them somewhere) there haven’t actually been any ‘[a few weeks later]’ panels to confirm or deny anything more. It’s been months on our side of the pages, but in-comic it could well be less. The best clue I could find is Ethan’s ‘places I’ve checked’… Read more »
Zeke’s “brain” is working like a human brain, As Scott put it “his programming is acting like a human mind constantly changing and rewriting itself” to paraphrase. So, like many who have suffered a brain injury, he has the limited ability to bypass the damaged areas to regain a level of function. He may not be just like the silly bot-buddy of v1.0, but something along those lines once he’s out of defence/revenge mode so to speak.

First… makes perfect sense that they’d go to Eugene. Only one that has the tools and equipment, after all.
But ZK doesn’t *need* him. They can do field repairs themself. Probably can even upgrade the lesser bots and do it through them.
Wonder if ZK’s going to kill him, or just stick a bomb in him.
This is more or less what I’m expecting to happen, actually. ZK will rough him up, then probably tie him up and call the authorities. Wouldn’t be surprised if they put some sort of note in there about turning in the Master being a gift for Ethan, similar to how Ethan’s been leaving notes for them as well.
I doubt he can repair himself (kind of awkward to get around and work on the back of your own head) but the use of the lesser bots to do it is a good idea.
If you read the comic carefully Zeke says to the master “they aren’t listening to you anymore” he has already taken control of the lesser bots. So repairs won’t be a problem, it’s what he does to the master first…

The first ‘h’ before hi is a nice touch. Either he’s still afraid of any other safeguards Eugene has, or he’s still damaged. Nice touch either way.
First off, by his own admission, he “wants to live”.
Second, this here is basically number 5 in SC2.
I will be disappointed if he doesn’t call Ethan “nahte” at some point prior to his repairs.
What’s SC2? The only one I thought of is Starcraft 2, but “number 5” and speaking backwards doesn’t ring a bell regarding it.
As for “he wants to live” – it doesn’t negate what I meant: That Zeke doesn’t need to breathe, he isn’t going to stutter due to being unable to catch his breath (or whatever other biological reason causes that for humans).
Hence the stuttering is probably because of damage and not stress.
Short Circuit 2. Johnny 5 gets beaten to within an inch of his life by some thugs and as a result stutters and screws up his speech patterns due to the malfunctions. It leads to him saying such things as:
“Perfectly K O, Derf.” (When talking to his friend Fred and insisting that he’s ok when he’s obviously not.
He’s still damaged but he’s managed to bypass enough to function… mostly. I’m sure his emotions are still in revenge/defend mode. We might be surprised by Zeke, he may be there to get one of the bots to repair him and take the master back to Scott and Ethan to prove he’s not dangerous, by I kinda doubt that. Although Ethan might show up and stop him from doing anything permanent, I’d be willing to bet Scott could trace Zeke if he tried.

I am amazed, this is the kind of thing tht is really hard to write yourself out of without seriously Bad Things happening.
Nah, it’s the classic “cut away” trope. Main character is in an impossible situation, go to commercial, then they’re safe and sound with their friends, recounting how crazy the situation was and how they just had to get out of there…
In any event, I suspect our heroes will find Eugene with a bomb strapped around his neck.
I can see that, him showing up at the store with the master by the scruff of the neck a glowing red light on his neck, a bomb with a remote detonator in Zeke’s hand, or built in.
The Bot you see is not ZK, that’s one of the minion bots. the “sentry” that is not listening to Eugene any longer. Still Eugene is in for a world of problems shortly.

Called it… Zeke had red eyes before the whole thing got started with Ethan and the gang. Since he didn’t say “Master” I’d say he’s in for a world of hurt.
Whether it’s before of after repairs is the question.
I’d say before I doubt Zeke would trust him to not install a bigger bomb while he was in there.
I do believe Zeke had control of the other bots to start with so the master didn’t have to do anything other than give orders and watch.

No more bomb, Zeke blames Eugene, and now there is nothing to stop him from taking vengeance.
The bomb didn’t work, Zeke would of gotten free anyway at some point. At least now he has an idea of who could help him afterwards, where before he would of become a HUGE problem for mankind. Ethans actions have given him a new way of thinking and in time i hope Zeke trusts him again.
The bomb was dislodged when Ethan shot a big chunk of metal into Zeke’s head.

ZK appears to have a fixed faceplate already, implying that they found Ethan’s gift, this kindness might shape their decision

CAD 1.0 wherein Zeke goes all murder-y and burns their house down.
Water is what stopped him in 1.0, Lucas sprayed him if I remember right. As a bot built from a few Xbox’s he wasn’t water tight, it nearly killed him.
And for reasons like thid, even as cool as an army of bots can be, for vigilance is always good to also trust in reliable and fluffy guard dogs.
Well, so Zeke has spent the last months tracking and working in overdrive the Master network. Interesting was could possibly looking for now.

I think it’s the latter you said: notice also the double “lis” in the previous panel.
I think it’s the damage (also see “lis-listening”), Zeke is not human, even if they can be afraid, they wouldn’t stutter for that reason.
