I know some comments are going to be ‘woah Ethan is giving good advice?’ (which, honestly, shouldn’t be a surprise, Ethan has a good head on his shoulders, just very easily distracted), but what I appreciate more is Lucas actually getting much more character development. That’s something he really lacked in 1.0, the most he got was maybe the Kate storyline and then that ended for a really silly reason.
Looking forward to Lucas bouncing off Scott as well for this.
Honestly Ethan giving good advice isn’t that unusual, especially when it’s tempered with his ridiculous stuff like it is at the end here. People often forget that he’s a very deep person, just with a very unique view of the world
That’s one of my favorite parts of the change to 2.0, how well developed the characters are now. It used to be just Ethan is random, Lucas cleans up his messes with a bit of snark, Lilah loves him, Scott was the weird roommate with a penguin, and Zeke wants to destroy humanity (right after the next game). But 2.0 gave almost everyone so much more depth. Ethan is intelligent & conflicted while still having his same randomness. Lucas is exposing so much more of himself as a person, having true issues that build from his past & insecurities. Scott… Read more »
Man, he is really bad at this dating thing. When he thought he couldn’t stay with him, he was going crazy because he was completely in love with him. Now that he found out everything is okay, he is thinking about how to break it off.
That’s a lot of people in real life, to be quite frank. People have commitment issues and so they end up sabotaging their relationships — deliberately or not — so they later on can point to the disaster and use it as a justification for having those commitment issues in the first place.
It’s quite an immature, destructive cycle of self-harm, really.
My memory may be fuzzy but I think this is the first time Lucas has been in something with the potential to be long-term. Before Ben he was much more of a hook-up guy, I recall him saying he had a couple go-to guys he could call up for a date. So that could always lead to the worry of expectations. “Nobody’s first real relationship works out, why should I be any different?”

Remember, in 1.0 Ethan gets 7 seconds a day of complete clarity.

That ending was so… Ethan. 🙂
Yep.
There’s the Ethan we all know and love.

I feel like most people I know have been Lucas at some point or another with relationships.
“Life is short, then you respawn.”
– Probably not Lucas
I’m so glad Lucas is getting some character development type attention finally. I really hope that Ben doesn’t get killed off.
remembering his abysmal survival rate at the end there
That was so sweet and layered.
Thanks Tim!
