I have to give it to Ethan on this one, a bank robbery where they openly below a hole into the wall is pretty serious. Unless he can also pause bullets in mid air, that is pretty dangerous.
Bah, he’s not being responsible he’s just being a douche about the kid (again). I hope the kid survives! I like him, and his power.

I think that Ethans gonna get in to a position that he is gonna die and the kids gonna save him. I know it doesnt matter because he will respawn but its been teased ethan is having trouble with the whole respawning thing,
Debry points to robbers having already fled the scene. Kid is the first *other* person to arrive just seconds after the good guys show up, panting like he ran the entire way (from…where ever), yet supposedly heard the same scanner broadcast as our heros. Either he’s also got Super Speed and told nobody, or…..
Or he was around the area, because, you know, same block and all.

Let’s start a betting corner on what outcome will happen with the kid: Choices so far, though people can suggest more: Lives, dies, winds up in a coma or other injury that he can’t recover from.
My money is on the kid throwing himself in front of a bullet to save Ethan. No he didn’t need to but he doesn’t know that. Kid dies in Ethan’s arms giving us months of angst to deal with.

Sorry to ask a dumb question, but what happened in the meantime to “Whatever touches him is frozen immediately, thus he can’t be easily harmed”?
Or maybe the kid sees Ethan die and decides it really is too dangerous a job for a kid? But then he manages to avoid being too traumatized because he’s lucky enough that Ethan’s power is respawning.

So… ummm…. why has Ethan decided that, rather than surf the arrow like Lucas, to instead hang off it, holding on with one arm. I mean if he wants the added mobility to swing off it and, assuming that Lucas can only surf it as it is an extention of his will, Ethan could still be standing on it with a rope around the arrow, holding the rope taunt (that way he can use it for stability and easily swinging off the arrow).

What is more dangerous for a character to say? “It’s a school night”, or “I’m three days from retirement”?

So. How long will it take for the two to discover the Gameboy is Ethan and Lucas’ biggest fan?

Boy needs some cool gadgets, like skatershoes that transform into a skateboard or something like that. So glad we get to see our boy hero again so soon. <3

Yup. Kid’s a goner. It was obvious before now, but it’s gotta happen eventually.
I’m a little disappointed that no one seems to think that this is going to be a character building moment for Ethan where he realizes that his re-spawn power is the best power for protecting other people by dying to save the kid. Like seriously, little kid, dead sister, existential crisis. That’s the most logical place for the story to go.
Nothing builds character like a kid’s death you could have prevented had you not been so busy acting like a prat.

Is this a death flag? I feel like Sam is about to get seriously injured or die, which is gonna make Ethan feel bad about the way he treated him, and have him reevaluate how he feels about his powers.
Or maybe it will unlock a new special ability, in which he’s able to share his extra lives with others.
Which could set up my dark interpretation of his powers. I envisioned that sometime down the road, Ethan would respawn just as a random passerby mysteriously died. Scott was already thinking a lot about Ethan’s powers, and he’ll confirm that Ethan shares lives with everyone on the planet. When he respawns, he’s taking a life token from a random person, and that person immediately dies. Scott just never shared the information because of how frivolously Ethan went through some of his lives, and didn’t want him to have an existential crisis.

I wonder if we may find a heretofore unseen aspect of Ethan’s powers? Like, perhaps he can’t respawn other people, but he can restore their health, and he’s just never been in a position where he’s felt that primal need that draws that power out. I know he’s seen Lucas injured, but he hasn’t seen him dying, which might be the tipping point. Probably not where this is going, but it’s fun to think about.

Hold up…how far does this “touch stuff and it pauses” stuff go? Does it have to touch his fingers? Does he have to think about it? This could be like Kylo Wren at the start of VII, when he could actually defeat the resistance.

kid’s gonna die, huh?
Or he gonna save their lives by stopping the bullets midair. XD
Well, not Ethan’s life…
Guess the kid’s gonna die
My guess is.. kids gonna die.
Yeah, trying to stop a bank robbery doesn’t qualify as “keeping the risk to a minimum” if you ask me.
When Ethan is the responsible person in the room.
Bah, he’s not being responsible he’s just being a douche about the kid (again). I hope the kid survives! I like him, and his power.

I hope that poor kid doesn’t sacrifice himself to save Ethan’s dumb ass
Or Ethan will have to use his power by jumping in front to save the kid.
Mr. D-Pad… I don’t feel so good
Hello,
Bricks are on the outside of the hole, wich means the robber EXITED the bank by there, not entered it…
Nice catch
Unless the bricks settled there after a section of wall was forcefully pulled out.

He’s the robber (and/or villain of this arch)!
Or he was around the area, because, you know, same block and all.

My first impression when he arrived was more a ‘he probably did’ feeling…
Maybe, the Gameboy just saves the day – hence it seems to be the one alternative deemed most unlikely here?
My guess is that Ethan takes a bullet for the kid and that leads to the kid either freaking out or worshipping Ethan.
My money’s on Ethan saving the kid somehow when he gets into danger, perhaps taking a bullet for him.
I’m betting the kid gets taken by the robbers and Ethan needs to save him. (Well, needs to get talked into saving him.)
That is not what is power does. He can pause things he touches, but things touching him are not automatically paused.
So the question is: can he activate his power faster than it would take a bullet to perforate his lung?
Either the kid dies or he goes all “All I wanted was to help you. I ONLY WANTED TO HELP!”
Or maybe the kid sees Ethan die and decides it really is too dangerous a job for a kid? But then he manages to avoid being too traumatized because he’s lucky enough that Ethan’s power is respawning.
Enter the new super villian…
