No, no, he’s destroying things, not constructing things! That would be more of a Combaticon, so either Onslaught, Brawl, Vortex, Swindle, or Blast Off. Or a Headmaster, since we can see a dude sitting in there. 😉
ALL Decepticons destroy things. Even the Constructicons. But the Constructicons are the ones that look like construction vehicles, hence the reference.
Yes, I follow, but I was not seeing Duke’s suit as construction themed. I took it as more of a generic bad-guy robot. The yellow, sure (except the Constructicons were green…), that I can see. The stripes remind me of the ones on Swindle’s right foot. And Swindle was a con man/hustler — stealing would totally be his thing (though I’m not sure if direct bank robbery would be his style…). I know, I know, I’m nitpicking.
Why do I have the feeling nobody got my reference to Ethans statement “Will the rest of the Constructicons be joining us, or is just y–?”.
The six names I mentioned were the 6 constructicons from Transformers Generation 1, episode “Heavy Metal War” where they were introduced in that order.
I fear this kid is going to get killed. The only good thing I see possible is Ethan to get squished and the kid see how dangerous this kind of fighting it.
Agreed – I’ve been thinking that for awhile now. Particularly with v1.0, I’ve noticed that Mr. Buckley seems to hail from the writing camp of engineering and implementing the most devastating situations plausible (as personalized to the character) without actually killing or permanently breaking them, and this one seems particularly well tailored to create angst for Ethan. There’s a gold mine of questions like “What if I’d helped the kid out instead of talking down to him?”, and that’s not even touching on the past and recent dilemma of being personally affected by death while being immune to it (the… Read more »

Oh and I like the look of that thing. The bright yellow with the hazard lines makes me think it is construction machinery. Demolition from the ram fist on the left. Very cool.

More like ‘Destucticon’, isn’t he?
Him.

Ahhh, first boss battle in a while! Gameboy is probably playing the RBY Gym Leader theme right now…

That guy’s face is still fully visible inside that machine. You can just let the police track him down as long as there aren’t any civilians in danger.
Perchance he is so clever that the image of the man on the suit is, in fact, a 3D screen projection, and the true mastermind is not even present but controlling remotely!

Hm… maybe Gameboy won’t die. But Ethan will, and it’ll be Gameboy’s fault. Since Gameboy doesn’t know Ethan’s power… it might effect him far worse then just simply getting hurt or dying himself.
Ethan gets squashed, GB freezes time, Ethan caught mid respawn

Everyone keeps thinking the kid will get hurt.
I disagree, our heroes will get hurt because they refuse to use him. Gameboy has a one touch KO ability. If Lucas used his powers to safely get Gameboy into range and Ethan worked as bait, then there is literally no enemy they can’t beat. Unless Captain Prime has some sort of resistance to lower super powers, even she would go down.

how could this big machine get into the building through that tiny hole last strip?
could’ve at least taken him out to dinner…
Hm, what will be his name? “Scavenger”, “Mixmaster”, “Longhaul”, “Bonecrusher”, “Hook” or “Scrapper”
Except for “Mixmaster” and perhaps “Hook” most of the names are possible 😉
John Deere
Demolition, id wager 😀
Iron Man!… wait, no… Man of Steel!… err, hmmm… well, he’s yellow, so… Bumblebee?

They build things that destroy other things, or they would if Starscream didn’t pull a Gilligan every episode.

His hands are literally modeled after an excavator’s demolition claw and a jackhammer XD
more of an excavator I think
That cape is going to get him in trouble. 😐
NO CAPES!

Maybe his name could be Devastator? 🙂
Yes, we got it.
I fear this kid is going to get killed. The only good thing I see possible is Ethan to get squished and the kid see how dangerous this kind of fighting it.
You’re forgetting the kid’s super power…

At this point, engaging him is a bad call if there are civilians nearby. Best bet is to just trail him and engage him in a more desolate area.
Perchance he is so clever that the image of the man on the suit is, in fact, a 3D screen projection, and the true mastermind is not even present but controlling remotely!

The hole isn’t tiny, it’s taller than the doors to the building are.
I think it’s just the perspective from the last strip. That top down view is a little misleading with regard to the size of the hole.
I am SO on board with Ethan’s complaint in the last panel.
The “Destructor” maybe?
Can’t they just fly the kid behind it so he can touch it… or drop him on it and problem solved? 🙂
that suit probably cost more than the money he stole.
