Unless he’s being aided by someone else I feel hacking is too advanced for the Troll. I would rather think he’s baiting them again. Letting himself be seen, disappearing via a planned escape route and waiting to see if the heroes show up. Then more trolling.
If he could hack that well, the burning of buildings would be more targeted ariund the neighbourhood and at a time they would be out fighting crime.
Since they aren’t officially sanctioned heroes, they are presumably listening on an open frequency, which means anyone that wanted to could be transmitting.

I can only imagine Ethan coming home after a date thinking “That went well. I had a lovely time!”, greeting Lucas, excusing himself for a moment, going to the bathroom to stab himself in the neck and respawning before all casual like telling Lucas about what an awesome night he had.

Oh this is not going to end well, I can just feel it. My money is on the Troll hacked police radios and is sending them to attack some innocent person, probably Lala given how shitty their luck has been so far in dealing with this asshat.

Ooh! I’m not sure we heard about the “fully heal” part of his powers before, have we? If we did, I don’t remember it, and I’m glad I learn a bit more about how his powers work! So getting a tatoo and letting it fully heal, he would respawn with the tatto? Or is the ink not being considered part of his body would not respawn? If not, the question can be asked about plastic surgery, the prostesis would not be respawned either? I love all those questions we start asking ourselves from time to time about those unique powers!… Read more »
Still, we must keep in mind that this is just one of Ethan’s schemes, not yet a confirmed functionality. Just because Ethan thinks it might work like that doesn’t mean it actually would work like that.
I can’t quite remember when (or if) it was said, but I remember something about how he reverts to his last “healthy state”. So his “save” is constantly being overwritten with the newest healthy state.
Picturing him going up to Scott, “Hey, so I had a great idea and I need to borrow your 3d printer for awhile; do you know where I could get some skin colored filament?”
I think this was Tim’s subtle way of providing us with clarification about Ethan’s powerset which was a subject of discussion in the previous comics comments
It’s how I’ve explained it since the beginning, and how it has always worked: Ethan respawns to his last completely healthy state.
In the past he’s used it undo otherwise non-lethal injuries like broken bones,etc.
